03.2023 | WELCOME BACK! Hello friends old and new! I'm so excited to welcome you all back to SITW! I've made some changes to the plot and added the ability to play supernatural charcaters! So come and check it out! I can't wait to jump back into this little town with all of you!
A strange history surrounds the town, it is a place where mysterious and supernatural things have been known to happen. The reputation of the town reguarly draws in visitors and newcomers alike. While some residents avidly believe in the supernatural, others are far more skeptical. What do you believe?
“Sounds like I have a lot to learn.” Marius smiled sheepishly. Flirting didn’t come easily to him, but he was having a good crack at it and thought he was doing alright. His father came from the chaperoned-dates-only school of thought. His mother was much less narrow-minded when it came to dating, but was still a big proponent of ‘modesty’ culture. Marius wasn’t sure how he felt about it, but it was all he’d ever been exposed to. His parents were well-meaning, but they were certainly set in their ways.
“Next week sounds great.” He was blushing again as Jade spun into him. They swayed gently back and forth. With all the lights and the crowd around him, he could feel his energy draining. This was more socializing than he’d done for a long time. He also remembered had church in the morning, but he felt embarrassed to say so. Marius was always afraid of coming off as puritanical. He didn't like people that pushed religion in people's faces, and he didn't wan to seem like he was doing the same. Jade seemed like a really special girl, which made him even more nervous. “Hey, what would you say we grab a late night snack? I don’t know what’s good around here for a quick bite, but I don’t mind walking. If you’d be interested, of course.”

It was just a scare tactic but Waylon Everett Sanders enjoyed doing it every prom, as he pulled through the parking lot in his old square body black truck he was humming along with a tune on the radio. A few students were standing at their vehicles, for instance a couple so into their kissing they were practically fused together and Waylon joking flashed his lights while getting on his little radio, "Let's break that up sirs and ladies," it echoed and the embarrassed pair quickly separated which made Waylon laugh.
The truck came to a stop and as he climbed out he couldn't help but laugh about the incident last year where his mere presence had one senior wall to his car and bring Waylon his booze. The kid apologized and supposedly went home, but that kid was at the local community college... Selling weed... But still in college.
Placing his hat on his head Waylon adjusted his badge so the kids could see it, it was to say, 'hey be safe or I can kick your ass'.

Ellis D. was as nonchalant as ever. Milo Laurent didn't need to know about whatever was roiling under the surface between him and Ida.
"She went to take a smoke. Hey listen, we were talking and we're thinking to go to the lake after this. Take a swim. Light some fireworks. You and Journey wanna join?" His eyes moved past Milo to his prom date as she walked towards the bathroom.
Marius really was very cute and she was really glad that she had come and that she had come without a date so she wasn't beholden to anyone when she saw Marius outside. This whole night had turned out ever better than she thought. It was made even better when he suggested they go out for a bite.
"I love it! Let's do it," she said enthusiastically. "I think The Sweet Shoppe is still open for treats and ice cream, or Rosie's Diner is always open for more real food." She scrunched up her nose as she thought about what might be close by. "I think Munchies is a little far to walk though..."
Marius, infinitely glad that she had accepted his offer, considered their options. Something sweet sounded nice. He smiled. “Sweets for the sweet.” A commonly misused idiom - originally from Act V of Hamlet, said by Queen Gertrude as she lay flowers on Ophelia’s grave. But still, he couldn’t help but think of it when he looked at Jade standing there, sparkling. “Sweet Shoppe sounds good.” He held out his arm. “Shall we?”
Milo's face brightened. That sounded like fun. As much as he also wanted some alone time with Journey, this sounded good too. It crossed his mind that perhaps he was being invited because his friends wanted an excuse to not be alone together. He could have been wrong of course, but what kind of friend would he be if he ditched them in their time of need.
"Ya! That sounds awesome! We're game!" He was speaking for his date of course, he hoped she wouldn't mind.

Alexis bit her lip, beaming, as he kissed the back of her hand before slipping away. “Okay.” Her eyebrows lifted in impressed surprise. Wait, he was here to perform? Ok, be just got even hotter if that was at all possible.
As he go onto the stage a couple to her friends hurried over to her to start ogling at the boy she’d just been dancing with, envious of her good fortune.
Alexis peeked over her shoulder in the direction of Ellis D. Youngblood, trying to see what he was up to before turning her attention to @zane with the rest of her girlfriends.

Jack returned her smile as he turned his attention back out to the writhing bodies. He chucked at her comment. “Oh definitely the latter,” he confirmed with a small laugh. Teenagers were basically made of hormones which made them emotional, horny, and pimply. He definitely didn’t miss the acne of his own younger years.
“Nice of you to volunteer for tonight,” he said to @kali. “No better weekend plans?” he asked conversationally.

Ellis D. smiled back at his friend and bobbed his head. He couldn't have said why he felt a sinking feeling in his stomach. Ida had been pretty specific about inviting Milo and Journey later, and while at first the potential had made Ellis D. wary, he now found himself disappointed that whatever she might have wanted to happen before they came wouldn't anymore. Or...maybe it still would? He shook the thought away with a turn of his head. He happened to catch Alexis Vanderson looking his way. He quickly averted his gaze. DANG IT. Shouldn't have done that. Should have stared back. It was too late to look again...
Ellis D. looked down at his phone and sent some quick texts, then looked up at Milo again.
"Cool, I'm gonna go share a smoke with Rivera then. Keep, uh," he smiled and hesitated, as if he might laugh, then said instead, "keep having a good time with Journey. She seems like a good one." He'd then head towards the exit @ida had taken to find her.
Ida spotted Ellis D. Youngblood just as she turned to go back inside. All the resolve she’d gathered over her cigarette melted as she saw the way the night cast shadows on his face. Damn. This was going to be tougher than she thought. Playing it cool, she sauntered towards him, admittedly relieved to be back in the company of her dearest friend. Ida smiled.
“Ready to blow this popsicle stand?” Journey and Milo wouldn’t be far behind them. She figured that if she and Ellis D. headed out now, they'd be able to get to the lake a little early. Maybe it would give her a chance to clear the air a little. Ida didn’t know quite what she was going to say, but things couldn’t go on like this. She had to say something.
