Alexis Vanderson offering Margret. Frenemies? Maybe just a one sided annoyance / catty hatred thing from Margret? She might have felt weirdly in competition with Alexis even though Margret did nothing but move from a city to earn her popularity, where as Alexis seems like the hometown favorite / golden girl. Also potentially a bad influence prior to Margret losing her vivaciousness, could have totally been a source of peer pressure towards Alexis. Just throwing stuff out there to see what sticks! Let me know if you have any ideas.
