A strange history surrounds the town, it is a place where mysterious and supernatural things have been known to happen. The reputation of the town reguarly draws in visitors and newcomers alike. While some residents avidly believe in the supernatural, others are far more skeptical. What do you believe?

Waylon and his team took three cruisers to the site of where the attack took place, Mikey Royce and the mystery of a man that was Giacomo Ettore were squeezed into Waylon's Bronco. Upon their arrival Waylon split the team once again sending one to South of the yellow tape line and the other to the north, and Waylon with Mikey, Giacomo, and two experienced hunters would go behind the yellow tape. He instructed his party to radio in every ten minutes, then over the radio he advised that each head of the parties check in every half hour.
"Stay close folks, anyone of you two got any experience with guns?" Waylon asked Mikey and Giacomo, "I'm Waylon Sanders by the way," he offered his hand to Giacomo.

Giacomo and Mikey Royce rode in sheriff Waylon Sanders's truck, a rather tight fit though Giacomo didn't mind the closeness to either men, especially to Mikey as their legs were touching, forced to do so in the size of the bronco. Yet it was also uncomfortable. In spite of his years as a vampire, he was still overly tempted to drink from people nearly as much as when he'd been new. Still, years of practice might not have made it less tempting but it did make him better at controlling that temptation.
They finally arrived and Giacomo breathed in the fresh air, though it seemed tainted with something else too. He was looking over to Mikey as if about to say something with the sheriff officially turned to introduce himself. Giacomo daintily put his hand in Waylon's with a graceful shake of his hand. "A pleasure to meet you, sheriff Waylon Sanders," he said, using the man's full name and title. "I am Giacomo Ettore," he returned the introduction as he brushed his long silver hair back behind his solider.
On the subject of guns, "I have never liked using guns but have shot them on several occasions." He knew enough that he didn't feel anyone would be in harm from this like wayward shots. Giacomo just preferred other tools for 'hunting'.

Harland didn't like the smell here and he didn't like the devastation wrought upon the scorched forest. The big man stayed very close to Darcy and the pup Casey Marshall and when the other volunteers were out of range enough he finally spoke, "This isn't right," more of a grunt, "This isn't our kind."
There was something slightly jarring about the mix of very different tensions going on. He could tell that the sheriff was taking this investigation very seriously and that gia was seriously considering a snack.
Even as distracting as that was he did notice the look from Gia as they got out of the truck. It wasn't the 'queing up a quip' sort of look more like Gia had noticed something. He would have to remember to ask latter. When it came to guns he had even less experience than giacomo had. He basically just knew which was the dangerous end. "Michael Royce ... and I'll let Giacomo handle ...that. I've hardly even used a flare gun before...." hunting had never been of interest to him. He wasn't opposed to them but he was reasonably assured that giacomo wouldn't let a random animal maul him. Nor did he think he could shoot an animal even a rabid one.
He cast his eyes around the area just to see if anything stood out.
- Since Sara hasn't been feeling well and is MIA, I am going to let Price Vanderson jump in next to join his group (please do a die roll/random number generator out of 20 and put your number at the top of your post) and then I'll come back and do another narrator post. Sara is welcome to join in at any time but we won't wait for her posts <3

Price kept his fake gun hidden in his jacket and rolled his eyes as his uncle directed their group. Turns out splitting up was a stupid idea. He’d need to have his father get rid of this no-good sheriff. The town could use someone like Price in charge.
This is what he was thinking as he kept quiet. For now.
As group 1 continued to search the area where the boy had been attacked it would be Giacomo Ettore and Mikey Royce who would first spot signs of something. Dried blood was found on section of leaves and splattered across the nearest tree trunk and only Giacomo noticed that there seemed to be some charring of leaves and bark around the area though no fire had fully been started. Waylon Sanders and Dominic "Nico" Vanderson wouldn't yet spot anything but Waylon Sanders was currently more distracted on keeping track of everyone in the group to notice any other signs.
As group 2 searched the area of the first fire Darcy Vance and Harland Shaw would noticed there seemed to be a line of black that was more severely burnt than the foliage around it, almost like a path that had been taken by whatever started the fire. Darcy would noticed a distinct canine scent but something that was certainly not werewolf. Madison Matthews saw nothing and kept walking along with Price Vanderson was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't notice the tree root sticking up out of the group, his foot catching it and making him stumble.

Giacomo walked along, honestly more focused on Mikey Royce than on the task at hand. It was both an annoyance and a thrill that he had to behave around Mikey with so many other people around. However, as they walked he quickly caught the scent of the blood from the attack and his eyes instantly locked down on the source of it. "There," he said in a whisper to Mikey in case he hadn't seen it as well. As Giacomo moved closer he noticed the hint of burning and charring in the area as well. He crouched down and lifted a half charred leaf as he held it up so Mikey could see it. "Interesting," he said softly, examining it. He made no personal attempts to call the rest of the group over.
Mikey's eyes followed to where Gia had pointed. He didn't immediately see it, but understood immediately once he did. "Oh. good one, Gia" He whispered back. So, this was the place for sure. He eyed the leaf that Gia had picked up with curiosity and then had a look at the other leaves scattered on the forest floor. The leaves had begun to dry and turn in color. The odd pattern of half charred leaves. The placement was bizarre. With the leaves as dry as they were an accidental fire should have been a large charr all in one spot or a few large streaks. This was weirdly subtle almost like a trail. What was someone walking around here with an old timey lantern or a literal torch? "If I didn't know any better I'd say the fire got up and walked away on it's own." Mikey replied with a sardonic laugh.
He motioned to the sheriff Waylon Sanders "It's over here."

Harland didn't like this but he couldn't help but want to track such an odd path, turning his attention to the younger pup Harland grunted toward him a question, "are you picking up anything pup?"
Darcy directed the members of the group who appeared to lack scents belonging to supernatural members to the area that appeared safest, but she couldn’t shake this feeling of heightened adrenaline coursing through her body. Something was causing her inner wolf to go wild. She turned her back on Casey Marshall and Harland Shaw, cast a sideways glance to a blonde female, Madison Matthews Darcy believed her name to be, she was near one of the Vandersons. Her scent was new to Darcy, she smelled heavily of the sea, which would normally have completely captured her attention, but something else crossed her nose as she stepped to look at what appears to be a charred path.
Darcy stepped closer to inspect the fairly distinct trail, and practically froze as the scent hit her again. Every hair on the back of her neck rose as she made a slight face at the pungent smell. It wasn’t anything like a werewolf, it definitely had canine hints to it, but it mostly wreaked of heat, or burning. ”Please tell me you two can smell that...” Darcy said in a hushed, almost low growl to Casey and Harland. She didn’t want to draw too much attention to the area to the rest of the search party, but something definitely seemed strange to have made such a distinct path away.

Waylon checked in with the other groups through his walkie, "Group leaders, I want updates every hour if possible and anything major as well of course, over," seemingly satisfied with the groups splitting he watched Price Vanderson and in his head thought the boy was special. Had to be. Handsome family that he comes from couldn't have all that and be working with a full of crayons.
When he heard his name being called out Waylon turned on his boot heels and headed toward Mikey Royce but along the way he did scold to hunters being aloof in their steps.
Waylon surveyed the young man's findings in fact he looked completely around eyes recording data to the old detective brain, "Don't all of this look strange? This is weirdly subtle almost like a trail, nothing or at least no one could control fire like this...so...direct," Waylon pulled his cell phone out and took pictures.

Oh, Price fell. It was a graceless, sloppy thing that took way longer than it should have as his feet tried to move quickly enough to keep him up but ultimately failed. He grumbled and jumped back up, sweeping leaves from his clothes and trying to play it cool, oblivious of actually being helpful in that moment.
Both groups continued to investigate, though some seemed more focused than others. There were hints to follow in both areas but it would be up to the people there to decide what to do with them.

Giacomo stood nearly as still as a statue, only a few strands of his hair moving in the lightest of breezes, as he searched his memory for any hint of what this might be. It did seem odd and felt, to him at least, like it could quite possibly be supernatural. What would cause a fire like this though? Especially one with such violent results.
"Very curious," he muttered half to himself and half to the group. His gaze followed the subtle trail of half blackened leaves but made no move towards them. If this was something supernatural then he wasn't particularly keen to lead a group of humans in that direction. In fact, he started to wander in the entirely opposite direction instead, searching for more potential clues.
