PERSONALITY

Likes:
- Alcohol, it’s her favorite way to blow off steam after a long day and the stress of leading a mostly young and growing werewolf pack.
- Being outside, thankfully her work involves spending a lot of time outdoors.
- Meeting new people (supernatural or not), Darcy’s a people person and is always up for drinks at the bar or exploring in the woods.

Dislikes:
- Being challenged as the Alpha simply because she’s relatively young and a woman.
- Being told what to do… just don’t.
- Big emotional moments, she’d rather vomit than sit around and discuss her ‘feelings’.

General personality: Darcy is best described as controlled chaos. She’s wild and stubborn, but determined to be a strong leader for her pack. Her main vice is alcohol. She’s quite the alcoholic, and will even reluctantly admit that her drinking can be problematic at times.

When it comes to her pack, she is a passionate and fierce protector. She would do anything to ensure the safety of her fellow werewolves.

She can be diplomatic when needed, and is only slightly concerned about the upcoming war with the older, Shadowridge pack. She originally hoped they could merge the packs, but isn’t against fighting for their place in Sweetwater if necessary.

Darcy is known to be quite the flirt when she’s drinking, but honestly is very nervous about the idea of imprinting on anyone (human or werewolf). And the idea of actually discussing feelings makes her nauseous.

- Darcy’s mother was the opposite of her father in so many ways. She was her favorite person in the whole world. Sadly she was killed in a car accident when Darcy was 8.

General History:
Darcy was born to Meredith and Anton Vance, two werewolves, both from pure bloodlines. Anton was disappointed about having a daughter, especially since complications after delivery left Meredith terrified of having more children. She opted to have herself sterilized (against her husband’s wishes) and just focused on raising her little girl. So Anton pushed himself to focus more on the pack. Anton was the Beta in their pack.

Two things were very clear to Darcy as she was growing up; her mother ADORED her father (she imprinted on him), and Anton merely ‘tolerated’ his wife. It was clear he’d married out of convenience and preservation, pressured by his family to make a ‘smart’ match. His family wanted him to be with a ‘pure blood’ not some ‘human he wanted to bite’. Seeing how passive her father was to them, made her afraid of ever imprinting on someone herself.

When Darcy was 8, she and her mother were in a car accident. She was in a medically induced coma for two months, her mother didn’t make it. When Darcy woke up, she was told her father had run off after being under suspicion for tampering with the vehicle and causing the accident. Apparently he was still seeing the human he had imprinted on, bit her and knocked her up. Darcy had never hated someone more than she did her father. She only kept her surname because of her grandparents.

Darcy was forced to mature quickly, especially once she went off on her own at the age of fifteen. She spent a few years hitchhiking, then finally settled with a pack in Wyoming. Darcy had made quite a name for herself, even going to school and graduating with a bachelor’s degree in environmental science. Shortly after graduating, it was clear the pack was under threat of being discovered (thanks to some careless individuals getting a little ‘bite happy’), and with all the arguments being made on staying or leaving; she challenged for title of Alpha to the Bloodrose Pack.

Despite her youth, she won. At the age of 24, Darcy was pack Alpha. A year after making Alpha, she moved the pack to Sweetwater Colorado. Their presence was met with much resistance from the older pack in place, despite her efforts to make peace and even trying to talk about merging the packs; they were told their presence was NOT wanted. So, she chose to fight. If war is what they wanted, war is what they would get.
