General personality: Giacomo can often come across as somehow believing himself to be superior to others while also cowering to authority. He is obsessed with painting and has that always seeking eye for things that are beautiful around him. He often has bits of paint on his hands and under his nails as he makes a point to paint every day, always striving for perfection. He is waiting for that one painting of his that will be the pinnacle of his career, the one prized piece that will mark his name in history.
He knows he looks different than most people but he sees himself and his style as an art piece all their own. He feels different too, in so many ways. He finds labels to be too restrictive and doesn't really fall into any himself. He can come across as odd and has had a hard time making friends in the past. Large groups feel both suffocating and too tempting when he's particularly hungry so he prefers small groups or one on one interactions. In spite of it all, he craves a feeling a belonging and community though he refuses to admit to such aloud. He just wants to be loved, accepted, and admired for his talent.

General History: Giacomo was born during the Italian renaissance in a time when the greatest artists of all time were making a name for themselves. Born to poor parents and too many siblings, Giacomo found and escape through art and he admired the artists of the time with great reverence, near worship. He spent as much time away from home as he could and would often sell his art for pennies just to get food to eat for the day.
That was until he met @annika. From the very beginning she saw the potential him, saw the capacity for greatness, and she soon became his patron. No longer was he living on scraps but brushing elbows with some of the wealthiest and most talented people in the country. His life was all he could have wanted it to be and he was incredibly loyal to Annika for making it happen.
Until the day he was attacked on the streets when he was making his way back to her home for the evening. He was beaten until nearly dead when she found him and it was then that he made a decision that would affect his eternity. She offered him a gift, a chance to live on and to become great, and he took it. She turned him and his life would be forever changed. He will never forget the uncontrollable hunger at first and a bloodlust that was hard to control. If it wasn't for Annika then he was sure he would have become a monster.
So he followed Annika around for centuries, there to do her bidding as they lived life to the fullest. Most of the time. It was through her that he also met Nadine Cartier. Eventually they found themselves in Sweetwater. Having gone by many names over the years, he settled back on his birthname when they arrived in Sweetwater. His love for Annika is unmatched. She is the giver of life, love, and prosperity. But his attentions haven't always remained solely on her. While he feels beholden to her he has also found an itch he can't scratch, a desire to be part of a coven and the inability to do so because his sire is so against it. Over their long, long life together, he is finally starting to question and to think about what it is that he wants, and it's a terrifying place to be in.
