03.2023 | WELCOME BACK! Hello friends old and new! I'm so excited to welcome you all back to SITW! I've made some changes to the plot and added the ability to play supernatural charcaters! So come and check it out! I can't wait to jump back into this little town with all of you!
A strange history surrounds the town, it is a place where mysterious and supernatural things have been known to happen. The reputation of the town reguarly draws in visitors and newcomers alike. While some residents avidly believe in the supernatural, others are far more skeptical. What do you believe?
Who willingly signed themselves up for classes that started at 8AM? In what world did she live in, that she thought she could actually manage her time accordingly to make it in for an 8AM class every Friday morning? Iris regretted the decision every time Friday morning rolled around. But, if she was anything; it was determined. And Tank certainly helped, not letting her close her eyes again once her alarm went off that first time. She couldn't take credit for making it into class on time for those morning classes, it was all Tank. She'd start begging to be let outside as soon as Iris shifted in the bed to turn off her alarm. So, Iris would have to get up and get dressed enough to take Tank out for a quick walk. And right now, when it was cold as fuck outside, she absolutely was awake by the time they made it back to her apartment. So, she hopped into the shower and argued with herself about how she'd do a better job next year when enrolling in her classes.
About an hour later, Iris was walking onto campus, nose and cheeks rosy from the cold -as the heat in her beater of a car didn't work- but dressed warmly in layers. A thick black winter coat, green knit sweater, and a thin but long sleeve fitted black v-neck shirt paired with a pair of light wash jeans zipped into a pair of simple black winter boots, a rainbow colored scarf and black knit toboggan. She was warm, and that's what mattered. She paused and muttered a light curse under her breath as she turned and walked back to her car; a 2004 black Toyota Corolla. It was a hideous thing with paint peeling and a dent in the left front fender; but the thing just wouldn't die. So, why waste money on a car payment when this one got from point A to point B just fine... minus working heat or A/C, and the leak in the radiator that had her adding water every trip she made. But hey, as soon as it finally died; she'd get something better suited to her tastes. She fought with the passenger side door handle for a moment, the lock having seized in it, kicking the door before walking to the driver side and opening the door, reaching across the seat for her bag. It had a few notebooks, some text books and a laptop that was worth more than her car. But that was an investment that had multiple uses; school, and her 'work from home' job.
Iris slammed the door shut on the car and pulled her boring grey bag over her shoulder as she headed up toward campus once again, now having everything she needed. English 101 was not her preferred way to start the morning, but at least she didn't have another class immediately after and could grab a coffee before her next class.

Brooks too had made the mistake of scheduling an early class but it had been the best option he had due to the timing of his other classes and it was a basic one he wanted to finish as quickly as possible. He didn't love English, mostly because he found reading to be such a chore, but it could be worse he supposed. It was at least better than his science course which currently seemed to be trying to torture them by dissecting as many dead animals as possible in one semester.
He was running a little behind today and by the time he reached the school he felt the need to at least make a light jog to get across the campus in time. Unfortunately for him, he hit a patch of black ice and one of his feet flew out from under him, causing him to land hard right on his back, pressing the books from his backpack into his spine and he groaned silently as the wind was knocked out of him. Well this was a great way to start the day...

Having had to back track for her bag, Iris was given a front row view of the very painful looking fall of a guy who she didn’t quite recognize. Which just meant he wasn’t a townie. “Oh shit, are you okay?” She carefully made her way to the man as quickly, but safely, as she could and offered him one of her hands. Granted, she was all of 5’3” and barely had much weight to herself; she would do her damndest to help him up and not add to the situation.
“They really ought to salt these sidewalks better.” She offered a half smile, hoping he wasn’t too hurt or in pain. She could stand being a bit tardy if it meant helping someone, her grades spoke for themselves after all. “Glad to see I’m not the only one to make the crazy decision to opt in for an 8am class on a Friday morning.” She teased, trying to lighten the mood as she gripped one of his arms to try and help him up.
