BROOKS STERLING Dacre Montgomery
DETAILS
Species: Human Occupation: College Student/Musician/Horse Trainer Residence: North Arbor Apartments Age: 21 Birthday: January 1st Height: 6'0 Weight: 170 lbs Hair Color: Brown Eye Color: Blue Sexual Orientation: Closeted Gay
Notable features: Usually has facial hair, most notably a mustache, and always wears rings on his fingers. He is often seen with something in his mouth such as a toothpick or gum and has a habit of playing with his mouth in one way or another.
PERSONALITY
Likes: Loud music, photography, coffee, anything sweet, parties, flirting, horses Dislikes: Reading for fun, organized religion, thunderstorms Strengths: Musical talent, friendly, respectful (usually) Weaknesses: Unable to express his feelings very well, can be a bit sloppy, allergic to nuts and peanuts and has to carry an EpiPen with him just in case.
General personality: When you meet Brooks it's easy to see his passion for music. He plays the drums in a band with @zane and is constantly drumming with just about anything he has in his hands (pens, chopsticks, or even just his fingers) and usually without noticing he's doing it. He also plays the piano and mostly uses it while writing music. He sings back-up for the band when he needs to but hasn't had the courage to take a lead part in singing though he has a better voice than he thinks he does.
He is fun guy to be around and loves a good, loud party with lots of people to hit on. He is great at making out and getting handsy but tends to hold back on going too much further due to the lessons pounded into him as a child, even though he disagrees with those teachings. Not that he's never done it, it's just more rare.
He can be loud and boisterous, not shy to draw attention to himself. He's been living life a little more recklessly in the year since coming to Sweetwater, finally feeling free to explore what it's like to be himself without the control of his family hanging over his head.
HISTORY
Education: High School Grad, current college student Years in Sweetwater: 1 Family Members: All family lives in Georgia
General History: Brooks grew up in a very strict household in the Bible Belt of America. Savannah, Georgia to be exact. (He has a slight southern twang to his voice that comes out more strongly when he’s been drinking). His father had very strong ideas about what it meant to ‘be a man’ and if his son didn’t live up to that ideal then he’d essentially ‘get the belt’. Brooks was supposed to know how to use tools, work the farm, not be overly emotional, and not do anything that was deemed by his father as ‘too feminine’. Brooks played football all through middle and high school even though he didn’t particularly enjoy it.
What he was really interested in was music but his father didn’t approve, telling him that music would get him nowhere in life. He did join the school band and somehow managed to keep his involvement a secret from his parents. His family was also deeply religious and just about everything you could imagine was considered a sin. The one his father seemed to focus on the most with the idea that anything other than heterosexuality was a grave sin and certainly nothing intimate was allowed before marriage.
Once Brooks graduated high school he started at a local college but when it became clear his family was going to be just as a controlling as they always were Brooks got the heck outta dodge and found himself in Sweetwater about a year ago. Unfortunately his credits didn't transfer to the small community college and he had to start over. His family has no idea where he is but he did end up needing to call the sheriffs department when he found out his parents put out a missing person report on him.
