03.2023 | WELCOME BACK! Hello friends old and new! I'm so excited to welcome you all back to SITW! I've made some changes to the plot and added the ability to play supernatural charcaters! So come and check it out! I can't wait to jump back into this little town with all of you!
A strange history surrounds the town, it is a place where mysterious and supernatural things have been known to happen. The reputation of the town reguarly draws in visitors and newcomers alike. While some residents avidly believe in the supernatural, others are far more skeptical. What do you believe?
It was a rare day off for Bex. She had even almost picked up an extra shift but ultimately decided that she really needed to get out of the daily grind a little and get back to what she loved. Travel and nature. Sure, she wasn't traveling far, just barely out of the main part of the town, but nature definitely. Donning her hiking gear that she had had to pull out of her silver airstream because she had never unpacked it into the motel, she was soon in her hiking boots, legging shorts, and a crop top long sleeved shirt that not only showed a hint of her toned abdomen but also loosely hung around her shoulders, leaving one of them usually exposed. Of course she grabbed a small backpack as well with a few snacks, a water pack, and miscellaneous items that might be useful.
It was a beautiful spring afternoon, one without a cloud in the sky, or so she thought, and she was looking forward to getting her body moving. Taking her motorcycle out to the start of the trail head, she secured it before beginning her hike. It was relatively easy going, at least at first. She had opted for a forest hike today instead of one up in the mountain, which would make it less strenuous and less likely to stumble upon a sudden cliff or something of that nature.
However, as she reveled in the sounds of the birds singing and the leaves rustling through the trees, she had got lost in her thoughts and noticed that it was getting later than she thought. With the sun beginning to dip low towards the horizon, she knew she'd soon lose light down here in the undergrowth of the forest. And as she looked at her compass she also realized she was going in an entirely different direction than she had thought she was. She must have turned off of a fork that she didn't noticed.
Feeling embarrassed and frustrated, because she knew better than this, she paused to pull out a trail map to try and figure out where she was. Spreading it out over a large boulder, she used her finger to trace along the path she thought she might have taken. Anxiety started to creep up on her when she realized just how far she might be and that it would be way past dark when, or if, she managed to make it back to her bike. "Shit, shit, shit," she said to herself with a groan as she looked around as if a good plan would suddenly come to her out of the blue.

Nadine had picked this land on purpose. The swath of virgin forest surrounding her home was made of large, dense trees whose leaves blocked out sunlight throughout the year, limiting the undergrowth. They had an ancient feeling to them; a solidity that Nadine felt down to her very core. Staying still, watching the years pass them by as the earth turned around them…Nadine felt as though she had more in common with the forest than the mortals that went about their little lives in Sweetwater.
Beyond the nostalgia, the land had a practical use as well. It made for the perfect place to hunt.
As dusk approached, Nadine shed her shoes. With flowing, loose trousers and a tucked-in button-down shirt with her white-blond hair about her shoulders, she made for the woods. She ran through the trees, nearly silent, stopping at intervals to breathe in the scents of the forest. For awhile, all she could detect was small game—hardly enough to satisfy her. After an hour’s search, Nadine detected the faint scent of a deer. There was no taste like human blood, but in the interest of maintaining secrecy, animal blood was needed to tide her over between real kills.
So, Nadine pursued. She pursued until another scent drew her off course.
Human. A woman. And close.
Intrigued, the woman’s silent footsteps slowed to a stop. She peered through the trees, seeing Bex’s form turn about as she tried to get her bearings. Nadine let the woman struggle for a moment before curiosity propelled her forward.
“Lost?” Nadine stepped forward with all the grace and poise she’d earned after all her years on this earth.
Bex had listened to enough True Crime to know that sometimes terrible things happened in the middle of the forest. You could get lost for days or weeks or longer, die of an injury or the cold, or heaven forbit met with foul play. She had to find her way out of here before the night fell and it got even more challenging. She was looking at her compass to at least determine which direction she ought to head in when a voice spoke.
She screamed. Loudly. All those true crime thoughts having her feeling already spooked and on edge and now there was a person who had appeared in middle of the fucking woods.
A very beautiful someone actually.
She put her hand over her chest as her heart raced from the scare. "Fucking hell. You scared the shit out of me," she said with a bit of a forced chuckle. "I, uh-" she considered lying or pointing out that she had friends nearby but it was pretty damn obvious that she was, in fact, lost. "Yeah, I think I must have taken a turn I hadn't planned or something." Please God please say this woman wasn't psycho and about to murder her.
