03.2023 | WELCOME BACK! Hello friends old and new! I'm so excited to welcome you all back to SITW! I've made some changes to the plot and added the ability to play supernatural charcaters! So come and check it out! I can't wait to jump back into this little town with all of you!
A strange history surrounds the town, it is a place where mysterious and supernatural things have been known to happen. The reputation of the town reguarly draws in visitors and newcomers alike. While some residents avidly believe in the supernatural, others are far more skeptical. What do you believe?
Blair arrived with her father and brother but they didn't stay together long. Her brother ran off in search of his friends and her father smiled at her with a knowing look and gave her a motion that encouraged her to do the same. She stood on her toes to kiss his cheek before bouncing away in search of some interesting company.
Hmmmm, what sort of trouble could she get into tonight? She spotted @mj talking to a boy she didn't know and felt the heat rise in her cheeks at the sight of her. She scoffed to herself and went looking for someone else to entertain her. Anyone else.
It was then that she spotted @aurelia and her smile brightened. Perfect! She walked over to the girl and if Aurelia let her then Blair would automatically link arms with her. "OMG! How are you?" She said enthusiastically. "How's life after high school?" She asked.
MJ was glad to pause for a moment. Serving people was what she did, and seeing familiar faces was inevitable in Sweetwater, but every now and then it could get exhausting. There was something comfortable in not knowing the boy she was speaking to now.
"At the Vanderson's, yes." MJ said with a glance towards the host. "The worst part is that when someone does something stupid they can't get away with not seeing the people at the part again. The town's too small for that." She smiled, remembering a particularly humiliating event with an ice sculpture. Not her, of course. She was a wallflower at things like this.
"You're new here." She didn't have to ask. "I've lived here three years and I'm still the new girl. What's your name?"
She had no idea which was more extreme at the moment as she felt the girl take her arm as she waved goodbye to her father. "Hi," she said happily. She actually did not mind the enthusiasm but she did mind the pretty. It was not like Blair could help it she was just naturally pretty which kind of upset Auerelia at times such as now when they were so close. She knew she was pretty too but this was unfair. "Great of course. I mean who would not love to never have homework again?" That was not exactly true.
Since she had started picking up more work Aurelia actually found herself more tired than ever but she could save a little more and she was a little stuck between talking to her father about a motorcycle or a four wheeler. She knew both were dangerous but the excitement was almost worth the risk though she did not feel the same about the conversation she was going to have with her father and maybe brother before. "You look so happy. I love it."
He did not really feel being here but the food was hard to resist. In all truth he was not sure if it was the smell or the fact that no matter how much of it you ate you could never seem to get enough to eat. Either way he had ordered something deep fried and certainly on it's way to clogging his arteries and was in the moment eating it as he sat on the edge of one of the tables where less people passed.
One would almost think that he didn't eat sweets much but it was not that, well he did not eat them all the time but the food here was a different kind of sugar and sweet and he did not consider himself addicted but he was heavily considering going for a second round and oddly enough perhaps a third. At the end of eating the first one he quickly went back and got and paid for a second and a third at the same time because others were starting to gather at the food stand and he was not ready for that. "This has to be what it tastes like in paradise." He knew that might have been a bit of a stretch too but who was he to turn down such a fried sugar delight that was bringing him delight and best of all he did not have to speak to it which was an automatic plus.
Jack had grabbed some hot apple cider and a donut and moved away from the stall to enjoy it. He made sure to move his camera strap so that his camera rested behind his back and safely out of the way of falling sugar or the chance of being bumped into and his drink spilling.
He happened to stand near the table where @reece was eating alone. Jack knew he was of course, it was a town where everyone knew each other. He knew that Reece had moved here around 5 years ago but didn't know much about their story further than that.
He heard what Reece had said and looked down at the table to see exactly what foods the boy was eating. "I'm convinced we'll still get to eat when we're in heaven. What would heaven be like without food?" He said, a bit quietly.
Blair didn't show any signs of noticing if Aurelia was feeling anything less other than perfectly happy to see her and she squeezed the girl's arm lightly with her own arm. "Oh man, that sounds amazing!" She said with a bit of an eye roll in regards to homework. Blair hated homework and had a major case of senioritis. She couldn't wait to be done with school. In fact she usually got someone else to do her homework for her. It wasn't hard to find people who were perfect willing, usually the nerdy boys who followed her around like little puppies.
"Of course I'm happy! Why wouldn't I be?!" She said in a bubbly tone. "SO! What should we do?" She asked, looking around the fair and determined to stick with Aurelia for the time being.
"Ferris wheel?" she suggested with her smile. The girl had bubbly on ten but that was okay and honestly she had gotten used to it from Blair. "Or try to win a stuffed animals and make some of the muscle head guys jealous." She laughed at that and then looked at Blair. "Any of that should do really."
She kind of wanted to get away but she was going to see if Blair had anything fun in mind because at the moment it was not like she was needed anywhere. "Harass some of the older men for free food sounds good too." She was kidding but it did sound fun.
Doing something stupid? Welp he would have to be careful than because he had a tendency to.
He gave a slight smirk though he figured that there was a chance of that kind of life in a town like this. Small town life was so closed in and you didn’t seem to easily get away from people. “Small town life sure seems interesting,” he added. “I’ve mostly lived in the city...”
Oh the dreaded commentary on being the new kid. Damn him being the new kid, he hated that. “Yeah, I guess you could say that. My uncle and I moved here about a week ago,” he pointed out. “I haven’t even gotten registered for school yet.” And so it would stay.
Blair tapped her lip thoughtfully at her friend’s suggestions. They all sounds good. “Hmmmm.” She smirked at the final about comment about getting free food from men. Now that sounded like fun. Blair could certainly be a tease and she was very good at getting what she wanted.
“Ferris wheel first.” She decided with a playful grin and a nod as she started to attempt to tug @aurelia in the direction of the circular attraction. “We can use the height to scope out the place.” She added.
"And the hot guys," she said. She liked this side of Blair and maybe if she could get over her own insecurities then they would be okay but it was hard to tell really still she shrugged and spoke as they got towards the line. "So what are you doing after this?"
"Probably be more like hell," he said as he looked up. He took the man in but remained mainly focused on what he was doing. He shrugged. "Having fun?" he thought he might as well try to strike up a conversation with Jack Hollifield so he would not come off rude and self centered.
"Well you look like you're about my age. Maybe we'll have some classes together." MJ shifted her tray to the left hand and offered her right.
"I'm MJ Mason. Senior. Also a server, and probably not supposed to be talking." She shrugged and glanced around with a guilty expression, but didn't see anyone scowling at her so she didn't dip out just yet.
"Welcome to Sweetwater. It's..." she smiled uncertainly, "something."
He wanted to smile and pretend it at the same time how did he do that without raising suspicion? A part of him just wanted to pretend he’d already graduated but unfortunately he basically looked his age. “Yeah, maybe. I guess we’ll see.” He explained. “We move around a lot so it depends on how long I stay I guess.”
He paused a moment. “It sure seems like something though. I like the small town homey vibe it gives off,” he admitted honestly. “It’s a lot more relaxing than the city life that’s for sure.”
"You still haven't told me your name." MJ pointed out to @michael, not getting impatient, but clearly insistent that he let her know who he was. She'd told him, after all.
A part of him didn’t want to give a name to her. He was always sort of nervous about it - given he never knew who he could or would run into in these places small town or not. He had to think for a while before he could answer her.
He decided that it wouldn’t objectively hurt anything. But maybe look even worse if he didn’t say anything. So he went for... “Michael, my name’s Michael.” After all he very rarely used his full name.
