03.2023 | WELCOME BACK! Hello friends old and new! I'm so excited to welcome you all back to SITW! I've made some changes to the plot and added the ability to play supernatural charcaters! So come and check it out! I can't wait to jump back into this little town with all of you!
A strange history surrounds the town, it is a place where mysterious and supernatural things have been known to happen. The reputation of the town reguarly draws in visitors and newcomers alike. While some residents avidly believe in the supernatural, others are far more skeptical. What do you believe?
It had been a long time since his last evening outing. He was glad to see Rosie's was still around, along with many of his favorite menu options. While the steak and eggs didn't quite sate his hunger like he always wished it would, the key lime pie almost did. The wait staff, on the other hand...
As he finished his dessert, he watched a slender young blonde move about the tables, taking orders, delivering food, wiping things down. It was always the fit, trim, athletic looking ones that caught his attention. But while he generally preferred his food a bit more filled out and mature, this one had a lovely scent about her. He'd easily caught her name tag that read 'Iris.'
The young man how had been his waiter stopped by to check in on him. Arturo glanced at his watch and realized the lad's shift was likely ending. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his wallet, setting a ten on the table to tip the man with. "Thank you, Tyler," he said in a soft, pleasant voice, taking another bite of pie. "I think I'll stay a bit longer." If just to watch the blonde. The young man grinned and expressed his appreciation but Arturo was only half paying attention.
Of all the new faces working the diner, he liked this one immensely.

”Order up!” The petite blonde put her pen and receipt pad in the pocket of her white frilly apron, offering an appreciative smile as she balanced the baskets and plates on her serving tray, stepping lightly so as not to trip herself. Upon reaching the table she was met with smiles from the small children with their parents, eagerly awaiting their ‘nuggies’. “Two orders of the kid’s chicken nuggets and fries, a chicken Caesar salad with extra dressing, and a chef’s salad with thousand island dressing and extra croutons.” She couldn’t help but smile as the kids offered polite little ‘thank-you’s and she nodded, moving to bus one of her now empty tables.
Working at Rosie’s wasn’t exactly glamorous, but the atmosphere was nice and the people were usually pleasant enough. You got the occasional jealous wife who made sure to stiff her on the tip, or the obnoxious college boys; but typically she enjoyed her work. Especially when she noticed the attractive man sitting in her coworker’s section, enjoying what appeared to be a slice of pie and paying quite a lot of attention to her.
It was always flattering to be noticed, especially in the work uniform that consisted of a red button up shirt with a ‘Rosie’s Diner’ logo on the back, the name badge that read ‘Iris’ on her front left side of her chest, dark wash jeans and a frilly white apron with red plaid gingham bows on the pockets. Her blonde hair was pulled back into a casual ponytail, and she wore a pair of white Keds. She glanced at the man and offered a smile as she finished wiping down the table in her section. They appeared to reach a lull in their evening rush, so after ensuring her tables were all good, she couldn’t help but walk over to the man.
He was even more handsome the closer she got and Iris was quite aware of the fact that she really didn’t have much to say to try and strike up conversation, but she couldn’t help it. She was curious, and he was just… captivating. “How are you liking the pie?” Iris asked with a raised brow, hip leaning slightly against the booth across from where he sat. Blue eyes taking in the man and she couldn’t help but feel like she’d seen him before, probably around town or something.

Arturo wasn't shy in the slightest about looking. When she returned his casual observation with a smile, he knew she was worth a little more of his attention. Hopefully a lot more. It had been a while since he ate well.
Her work uniform had a very cozy charm about it. But to be honest, he hardly noticed. Even her good looks were secondary to the real thing that called his attention to her. It was her eyes. He had thing for pretty ones and there were a lot of those around town. But tonight, hers were his favorite. And of course, the smell of her blood. Hopefully it tasted just as good.
Despite his best attempts to take his time, he was still almost done with the dessert. And ordering a second wasn't really his style. But then she walked up to his booth. He watched her the whole way, raising an eyebrow at her. Clearly, she knew an invitation when she saw one. He liked people who weren't shy about what they wanted.
He looked her up and down, as if he could see through her work uniform and then belatedly to her question, brought his fingers to his lips and kissed them in a gesture of perfect. For the pie not so much. "It's splendid. But I find I am still a bit...peckish," he said letting his accent just skim the surface. He smiled once again and spun the fork in his hand gently. "I think you can help me."
The vampire had to have her.

This man most definitely piqued her interest, if not because she didn’t know him, than simply from his very obvious interest in her. Of course Iris was used to some staring at times, especially if it was due to being recognized from her other job. But typically that was a different form of staring. This man seemed to look at her with some form of interest, but she couldn’t quite pinpoint exactly what that look was more specifically.
Those blue eyes of hers didn’t miss his eyes moving up and down her frame, making her smile. Iris enjoyed the attention, glancing at the clock on the wall and knowing she didn’t have much longer for her evening shift, and curious to know just what this attractive man might have in mind. His response intrigued her and she couldn’t help but gently raise a brow. “Oh?” She noted his accent and couldn’t help but smile.
She gently crossed her arms a curious expression on her face as she tried to decide exactly what it was she saw in that gaze. And then it hit her.
Hunger.
That’s what it was. And it oddly excited her. “Is that so?” She mused softly and then asked. “Whatever do you have in mind?”

Arturo had never seen the girl before. At least not how she was. So often the faces around him blurred together. Like snowflakes. Unique little flakes show special qualities were lost to the masses and to time. He couldn't possibly 'see' all of them. Couldn't give each the time it was due. But he could do that for some. Like Iris.
She was slender, skinny, needed to eat just a bit more. While she was well kept, her shoes were scuffed from use. She had more make up on than she needed, but whether that was to cover poor sleep or out of self consciousness he wasn't sure. Her hands were soft but little cuts and wear here and there showed she worked a lot. He wanted to know the all her why's.
Especially the ones that made her walk over to his table and how she glowed when he looked at her. He could guess what her checking the clock meant.
"You joining me for a second dessert," he said simplly. If she didn't want to, that was her choice. But he wouldn't leave her guessing what it was he wanted. Not entirely, at least. He didn't like to play games that intensely. And while he was looking for more permanent mortals to enjoy, he had to be sure they were...compatible. Arturo craved intimacy just like any man, after all.
He took another bite of his pie and then set down the fork, collecting his check and moving out of the booth. He was tempted to touch her, but he contained himself. Soon, he hoped.
"Once you're finisbed with your shift, I'll be parked in the lot. The orange Lotus. See you then, Iris." And with that, he walked up to the host stand and chatted with the hostess about his meal and her day as he paid for his food and then returned to his coupe.

Iris couldn’t help her silent fascination with this man. He didn’t look like he belonged in this small little town, and his accent definitely told her he wasn’t from around here. Which only made her even more interested in him. Iris couldn’t help the gentle way the corner of her lips turned up at his response, surprisingly able to not blush as she nodded. She liked that he didn’t leave her guessing, it was refreshing to encounter someone who was capable of being straightforward.
“That sounds lovely.” Iris said softly with a nod, watching as he finished his pie and collected his check as he stood. He was tall too, standing at least half a foot taller than her… she had to fight the urge to bite her lip as he spoke again.
Her heart began racing in her chest as she watched him continue on to pay out his bill. She couldn’t fight the soft rosy glow that took to her cheeks and she busied herself by busing and wiping off the table. The end of her shift could not come soon enough. In fact, Iris found herself trying hard not to think about the clock on the wall and busied herself with some of the extra cleaning to keep her busy.
Thankfully Iris was able to find enough to do that by the time she was due to clock out, she was having to be reminded. She clocked out and grabbed her coat from the back, she took the apron off and folded it into her bag before slipping it over her shoulder. Iris said her goodbyes to coworkers as she pushed her way out the door and was met by a cold breeze, tightening her black coat around her petite frame as she glanced around. Sure enough, there was an orange Lotus and the handsome stranger with it. Once again, her heartbeat sped up as she walked toward the vehicle.

The vampire of course had plenty of better things to do than simply wait in his car outside of Rosie's for an hour and a half or longer. But he was also a man of his word. So while there were a few 'work' related calls and texts and emails (some actual work, others to do with his family), Arturo simply relaxed in his car. One hour was nothing but a grain of sand to a man who had walked multiple beaches.
The car was a different story. From horses to wagons to buggies to exotic sports cars with manual transmissions and that could go from 0 to 60 faster than he could ask a horse to a canter. Arturo was quite found of this particular innovation of humanity. While he often simply rented whatever sort of car held his attention for the moment, there was something about a Lotus Elise that he had a soft spot for. It wasn't the fastest car out there, certainly wasn't the most comfortable. But with a metallic orange finish, it was very much his car. He had no problem admitting he enjoyed the jealous looks and the eye rolls.
He spotted Iris leaving the diner and opened the door, stepping out so he could round the vehicle and hold open the door for her, sharing that same smile. She had a glow about her though, he could see it in her flushed cheeks. My, was she and eager one. "Iris," he greeted. "One could never tell you had a long day of work, glowing like that," he noted casually, as if he was an old friend picking her up from a long day of work. "Call me Arturo," he said, holding out his hand to help her in and offering a soft kiss to her hand as he did so. Arturo closed the door once she was settled inside and moved smoothly back into the driver's seat, the small sports car zipping out of the lot.
While he didn't have a final destination yet in mind, he thought he would leave that up to his companion. It was always better when they were comfortable, after all. And if it was her place, that made it much easier to pass off as a simple fling. "Where would you like to be whisked away to, my little dessert?"
The way the man exited the vehicle to open the door for her, complimenting her in that intoxicating accent, introducing himself and kissing the hand she gave him to help her into the vehicle. Iris couldn’t help but smile, her heart racing as she settled into the seat and watched the man, Arturo, return to the driver’s side and eased into his seat. “Why, thank-you.” She said softly, she had never met a man who seemed to possess such an air of chivalry. A woman could swoon from such treatment. Her hand tingling where his lips had softly pressed against it.
Nor had she ever found herself sitting in such an impressive -and expensive- car. Her own vehicle being such an embarrassment in comparison. Just who was this man… and why did she find herself so inexplicably drawn to him? Had she seriously gotten into a vehicle with a complete stranger simply because he was attractive and piqued her interest? Clearly Iris would have been an easy target in a horror form setting. Those blue eyes looked at him as he directed a question to her and she smiled.
“If you don’t mind a simple apartment and a dog; I live close by.” And now she was offering to invite this man to her home, she absolutely would have been the perfect ‘victim’. Distract her with a sexy stranger who offered flattery, manners and possessed an accent that made her knees weak; she’s a goner. Especially one calling her his ‘little dessert’.
She couldn’t help it, Iris craved more excitement in life. And Arturo… something about him just had her completely captivated. “I live at the North Arbor Apartments.” Iris said softly, excited to see just how this all played out.

Sometimes, the vampire knew he could be a bit old fashioned. Not entirely 'old fashioned' though. And really it was about what sort of charm he thought he needed to apply. Regardless, it seemed to be working for Iris. Young women usually went one of two ways. They either wanted a mature, chivalrous gentleman or a villain. Except for the ones that liked both.
Perhaps this was a horror story and he wasn't some knight in shining armor but a beast of the night.
"Sounds perfect. I'd be honored," he intoned. There being only one main apartment complex in town, Arturo was already directing them that way. Iris might be the victim, but the vampire wasn't some freshly turned, starving creature. He could contain himself to ensure she was what he really wanted tonight. No need to force anything.
"Do you like it there? Lived there long?" He asked. Partly to get them through some casual conversation. Partly because he wanted to know more a out her. Partly because he found it amusing that those apartments where still there. They weren't ancient and hopefully were just as well maintained.
The Lotus was quick and Arturo had no problem pushing the speed limit. He was careful in town, of course. As much as he enjoyed attention, the cops were not of interest to him and he liked to keep that feeling mutual.
He pulled into the apartment complex soon enough. Arturo smiled and once again became her chauffer, stepping around the car smoothly to open her door and offer her a hand out. It was a bit low, after all.

Perhaps she was tired of the mundane existence she seemed resigned to, or maybe it was just his charm; Iris wasn’t going to sully her evening by stressing or overthinking. She glanced at Arturo as he responded and she couldn’t help the smile that pulled at the edges of her soft lips. And this was why guys her age were easy to write off; they had no charm or genuine charisma. And the chivalry, she couldn’t remember the last time a man insisted on opening a car door for her. Especially when they were already sitting in the car. But that didn’t seem to phase this man.
“I do like it there. They do a decent job of tending to issues, and they’ve been great about my dog. Most places have very specific rules about breeds, but they let us move in.” She shook her head a little, as she spoke, recalling getting ‘rejected’ from other locations because her dog. Thankfully, North Arbor Apartments were much more lenient there. “Not too long, this year makes three years. Moved in my senior year of high school.” Iris said with a shrug, not mentioning that was after her parents died. That didn’t strike her as the type of conversation she wanted to carry on.
“But I was born and raised here in Sweetwater.” She admitted as he made the familiar trip to the apartment complex. Still beyond impressed with his car, not sure she’d ever seen such a nice one show up at the parking lot for the apartments. When she pointed out which area was designated for her apartment, and he was out of the car and moving to get the door for her once again.
“Thank-you.” Iris said to Arturo as she accepted his hand to guide her out of the vehicle with a soft rosy glow to those cheeks yet again. She couldn’t help it. Iris reached a hand into her bag for her keys. “What about you? Have you been in Sweetwater long?” She asked, turning to look at him as she began to lead the way once again. Her apartment was on the ground level, toward the far end. Iris stopped at her door and couldn’t help but laugh a little as she could already hear Tank’s whining from the other side of the door.
“She’s easily excited, but she doesn’t jump. Her name is Tank.” Her fingers moved to unlock her door and she gently pushed it in, removing the keys and smiling at the white and fawn colored pit bull mix that looked to be about four years old.

"Splendid." He was glad to know the apartments were still going well. From the sound of it, he would guess her dog was a pit bull or pit bull mix of some sort. He enjoyed how affectionate such dogs could be, even if he preferred cats. Since high school? Arturo glanced at her out of the corner of his eye but he got the feeling that wasn't a good story. Parents kicked her out, she ran way, orphaned, so many bad things. "You're quite the capable young woman," he noted instead. Waiting table's at Rosie's wouldn't pay the bills here. She must had a second job. Which was insane. The vampire hardly had any job himself these days. Knowing she was born here was reassuring in a way. Sweetwater was home. She was tied here. Less ikely to leave him high and dry as she had nowhere else to go.
"My pleasure, Iris," he said easily. "I have," he said vaguely. "But I either travel or don't get out much. I have a villa in the woods," he said. He said no reason to hide he was wealthy. The car practically screamed it. But he didn't wish to rub it in her face. He kept pace with her to her apartment, raising an eyebrow at the sound of the dog.
"Good to know." Tank was a rather interesting name. But as he stepped inside and saw her, it fit. She was a solid creature and very lovely with her coloring. "She's very pretty. She must take after her person."

Iris practically glowed at the compliment. She really was, and he didn’t know that half of it. Yet, he seemed to be piecing a few things together on his own. “Not all of us can afford to be the damsels in distress, sometimes a girl’s gotta learn to fight her own dragons and save herself.” She said with a soft smile. Though she still couldn’t quite shake the idea that she would still be a character who wound up dead in a horror film. Especially if the ‘killer’ was attractive and had an accent. But when it came to her living situation, Iris didn’t have a lot of options. She didn’t have family to turn to after her parents were gone, so she did the only thing she knew; she got her jobs lined up and worked hard. Good things in life didn’t come easy, after all.
She listened with a smile, quite enjoying the way her name sounded rolling off his lips. Him living in Sweetwater was nice to know, at least he wasn’t just some tourist passing through. It meant that there was the potential for her to see him again, should that be something either of them wanted. It was a bit too soon to tell. But she certainly found him charming. “A villa in the woods? That sounds fascinating, I’m suddenly disappointed that we decided to come to my little apartment.” Iris teased with a playful wink and a good natured smile. Why was she not surprised? His clothes and car definitely gave the indication of wealth. So, of course he had a villa in the woods, anything else wouldn’t have made sense.
Iris moved to close the door behind them, smiling at his words as she stepped toward the left. The apartment wasn’t large or flashy, but it had a quaint little kitchen to the left, the couch and coffee table to the right, a bedroom that didn’t have a door (open floor plan, it was more in her price range) and the bathroom could be accessed from the bedroom. She set her purse on the kitchen table and began to shrug out of her coat. “My, aren’t you the charmer. Are you always this giving with your compliment?” She asked with a coy smile, raising a brow teasingly. Tank completely ignored Iris for the moment and curiously approached Arturo, sniffing the air around him as she did, tail wagging.

"And I applaud a woman who can," he concluded with a smile. She certainly had some dramatic flair to her, bottled up in that cute little unassuming waitress attire.
Arturo smiled. "Perhaps another time?" he suggested. He didn't like to bring people home on a first date. He wasn't so much worried about them finding him, but it felt much more serious, sharing his own bed. Besides, he rather enjoyed having somewhere else to go out to rather than return to his own bed. That got rather boring after a few months, let alone decades. He looked around the cozy apartment. It wasn't quite a studio, but it was small. Set up for a single girl and filled with dog toys and a bed for Tank. There was camera equipment in one corner and extra pillows on the couch, and not an article of clothing out of place. He turned to keep her in his view as she closed the door, returning her smile.
Arturo liked making other people smile. "The world could use more compliments. I'm just doing my part," he said modestly, reaching over to help take her coat, his touch lingering for a moment before pulling it from her arms and hanging it up. Unless the dog touched him, her paid her no mind. His focus was on Iris. "If you would like to change, I can wait here," he suggested, removing his own coat. He knew she might not feel her entire confident self in her sweaty work attire. "But I'll have you know, Iris, I find a woman in uniform very attractive," he added.

Why did his compliments have such a pleasing effect on her? Was it his accent, that charming face… or was it the way her words sounded so genuine? Whatever the case, she most certainly was looking forward to getting better acquainted with the man.
“I like the sound of that, it suggests the implication that I’ll be seeing you again.” The edges of her lips pulling up into a coy smile as she moved from the door. Her apartment was small and quaint, but suited her. She’d taken the time to paint and make it more comfortable. Though some of her decor suggested it had been picked due to affordability and not so much style preference. But it was alright, aside from her working at home; she usually only was here long enough to sleep between work and classes. And while she wasn’t a stranger to having a guest, it had been almost two months since she’d brought a guy into her home.
“I like the way you think, Arturo.” Iris said softly, giving him an appreciative smile as he helped her remove the coat. The lingering touch didn’t go unnoticed, and brought a soft warm glow of peach to her cheeks. Tank watched the man aid her owner, and then got bored and decided to settle onto one of the larger dog pillows in the corner of the room.
Blue eyes watched him as he spoke and removed his own jacket and she couldn’t help but bite her bottom lip slightly. She considered changing, when he continued talking and she couldn’t help but shake her head with an amused smile, she took a few steps forward, closing most of the distance between them. God, he smelled so good.
“Hey, if the uniform does it for you, I’m more than comfortable.” Thanks largely in part to her years working as a cam girl, Iris was very much into role playing and giving people what they wanted or ‘needed’ from her. So, if Arturo found her work uniform attractive; she had no problem keeping it on. And it wasn’t as if she had such a strenuous jobs that she smelt rough. Mostly a mixture of fry oil, coffee and likely a bit of coconut from her body lotion after her showers. While she might have waited for him to initiate more contact, Iris wasn’t afraid to Let him know just how interested she was. Standing this close, she gently ran her hands up his chest and rested them around the back of his neck as she pushed herself up to his ear. “And I find handsome strangers with accents incredibly sexy.” Her warm breath met his ear and she placed a few soft trailing kisses along his jaw.

Arturo would neither confirm nor deny if there would be another night. This was just for fun for the now, after all. Like any fling. Sometimes, two people just needed to fulfill their own...physical desires with one another.
He smiled. So maybe he was being a bit patronizing, but she seemed to enjoy it just as sincerely as he meant it. He was a philanthropist with his words rather than his money. He met her blue eyes with a very direct look, unafraid to show his own interest now that they were alone. Arturo got a small, perhaps sick sort of enjoyment out of letting her come to him.
His typical go-to cologne was Acqua di Gio. He was a fan of his citris scents after all, as it complimented his natural spicy blood orange and leather scent. Not that it was very strong, lacking blood as he did. The cologne helped. The vampire smiled. "Oh, my little dessert likes to play? Very good," he said as she reached her hand out to him. He let her fingers trace his chest and then loop around him. His hands settled on either side of her waist, enjoying the strong shape of her hips and the warmth of her breath. He missed that warmth that mortals possessed so much. Especially from one that smelled like coconut and coffee. He hummed in amusemwnt, though he wouldn't lie, he knew many people enjoyed a man with an accent.
His hand drifted to her ass, gripping Iris through her pants. "I would prefer to see you comfortable outside that uniform," he said firmly, attempting to guide her by her hips toward the sofa. His lips didn't seek her own right away, deciding to taunt her a bit and wihthold something she wanted.
