03.2023 | WELCOME BACK! Hello friends old and new! I'm so excited to welcome you all back to SITW! I've made some changes to the plot and added the ability to play supernatural charcaters! So come and check it out! I can't wait to jump back into this little town with all of you!
A strange history surrounds the town, it is a place where mysterious and supernatural things have been known to happen. The reputation of the town reguarly draws in visitors and newcomers alike. While some residents avidly believe in the supernatural, others are far more skeptical. What do you believe?
She shrugged at his response, but shook her head. “Not wrong, just as best as you could. There’s nothing wrong with that, no shame in it either.” There was no one way to grieve and move on from tragedy. If there was, no one would ever struggle. But that was one of the beautiful mysteries of life; everyone was different and unique. What worked for her, might not necessarily be the thing that works for him. Though, she wouldn’t quite call her own method as ‘working’. But it did the job for the most part.
She could feel him move to look at her, and she enjoyed the fact that he wasn’t getting upset with her or frustrated. Instead, he answered in the way he was most comfortable. She really couldn’t ask for more than that. And then he was moving, but thankfully didn’t give up holding her. All she wanted to do was be close to him. To make him smile and help take away the focus from the hurt. She wasn’t stupid, she recognized something in him the other night when he’d been drinking. Something she couldn’t help but want desperately to help him escape. But this was all way more intense and real than Darcy was used to. She didn’t quite know how to do whatever this was. But she wanted to try.
He ran his hand over her hair and she couldn’t help but smile. “I understand… but just don’t hate me if occasionally I try. You’re something special Ferris, you’ve got a level head on your shoulders and you constantly put yourself in the line of fire, quite literally, just to keep people safe. You’re allowed to not be perfect and to have your preferred vices. There’s no shame in that.” She said softly, hugging herself closer to him as she did.
“Nothing wrong with enjoying your vices, I’m definitely not the person to try and tell you otherwise.” She chuckled, running a hand underneath Ferris’ sweater to trace along his chest. “Pretty sure I owe you a new bottle of scotch.”

Ferris appreciated the sentiment, but Darcy was wrong. There were definitely wrong ways to cope and he had nailed quite a few of them. Blaming himself, getting himself wasted on alcohol, and attempting to kill himself in some sort of stupid belated suicide pact to name a few. But while he knew this, he thought it best to let it go for now. As much as he wanted to make a poor taste joke about it, much like his mental break down comment after their hike. Only now he didn't have the excuse of a stressful situation.
He allowed himself the distraction of his fingers brushing against her bare shoulders, over her arms, wrapping around the small of her back. Ferris closed his eyes and breathed in her scent. The smell of her shampoo, the lingering aroma of their enjoyment of each other. He shook his head as she suggested hating her or that he was special. Said the werewolf to the human. "I only have the capacity to hate one person in my life Darcy and it ain't you," murmured.
He'd always been a protector of sorts. It just made sense. How he met Garrett. Joining the air force. Becoming a firefighter. It had just made sense. He didn't even think of himself as putting himself in the line of fire sometimes. But he knew he should think more highly of himself, at the least on a self preservation level. "Easy for you to say," Ferris snorted. "You knock back two bottles of scotch and are fine. Every time I smoke I get a little closer to lung cancer."
"Don't worry about the scotch," he added. She had saved him from drinking it, after all.
To lose anyone like that was awful, she couldn’t begin to imagine what losing a best friend like that could do to a person. Her mind tried to start looking for any tells for concern in past conversations, but was soon pulled back to the moment by the feel of his fingers on her bare skin, goosebumps rising up as he moved along until his hand wrapped around the small of her back. The way he seemed to just be taking his time touching her and enjoying her scents, it made her want to just get long in his embrace.
“Well, I’m glad to hear that… thought for sure you at least disliked me a great deal after the bear incident.” She teased with a half smile. Darcy enjoyed the feeling of his warm chest, only a little sad he had a sweater on. But not everyone could always run so warm. And while part of her wanted to press about asking who he hated, she didn’t want him to find her dozens of questions annoying. After all, he didn’t owe her any answers. She was appreciative of the fact that he even answered her at all.
“Hey, I’m not impervious to human illnesses. Also, I can get taken out by jewelry and a weed if I’m not careful!” She admitted with a chuckle, shaking her head a bit. “Even in human form.” The thought was a sobering one. Sometimes she forgot just how easy a wolf could be taken down. Not to mention fights with other wolves or vampires. Though Darcy did her best to give the other beasts a large girth.
“Okay fine, but I’ll get you some more cinnamon rolls or something to make up for it.”

"I disliked the bear, sure," he admitted. He had been a lot more stoic and guarded with her on the high. But he was often like that with people he just met and she had caught him at a serious moment with the wildfires. And really it just depended on his mood. This week was a lot better than last and he hoped things stayed that way for a while.
But then she caught him a lot more relaxed at home, brought him food, and they fucked. So yeah, he'd opened up quite a lot to Darcy, even if she seemed to desperately want more. Her perseverance reminded him of someone he used to know.
"Well, at least you don't have to worry about alcohol poisoning," he noted. Discussing all the ways she might die wasn't what he wanted to dwell on, especially with the very recent conversation about the loss of his friend and how close to home it was with his other vice. Ferris smiled and fake groaned. "Please, no more dessert. My work outs are going to suck this week," he joked, pulling her back down against him as he laid on the sleeping back again and stretched.
After another long round of silence, he yawned. "I need to get home," he said regretfully, caressing her shoulder with his thumb.
She couldn’t help but laugh at that, she had definitely felt a strong dislike of the bear personally, it she was relieved she didn’t have to hurt it. The wildfires had them all on edge, animals couldn’t help attacking when already in a heightened state of stress. She felt that at times.
Darcy shrugged a little, honestly not sure about that one. “Ya know, I’ve never tried to find that one out. I typically stop around the point of just getting a nice comfortable buzz… which I don’t do often. That shit gets expensive.” She shook her head and then smiled at his groan about the desserts. He pulled her back to him as he laid back down and she was more than happy to oblige. “I can easily help you burn off any extra calories.” She leaned up against his neck and gently bit him.
“Well, I should probably return you to your truck then.” She said, thankful that the dark hid her faltered smile.

"Maybe don't, eh?" Not in the least because he considered her a friend and didn't want to lose another. But he knew she was joking. "I bet it does when you casually drink a bottle of whiskey in one sitting," he said, shaking his head.
"Fuck you and your metabolism," he grumbled, still joking but admittedly still very jealous. He supposed that didn't help her build muscle. Not that she needed it. She was stronger than him and he quite liked the shape of her lithe frame and round ass. He did chuckle though as she teased him and bit his neck. "I'll take that promise too."
Ferris pushed himself up with a groan, climbing to his feet in the back of her truck and careful not to tread all over the sleeping bag with his boots. He finally pulled his jeans up properly, zipper, button and all. He hopped down over the side of the truck, landing a bit harder on the ground than he intended due to how hard it was to see and his entire lack of depth perception in the darkness. Ferris offered Darcy his hand in a very gentlemanly gesture. "Rather not get a ticket for illegally parking there overnight," he agreed. He worried she had wanted to stay out all night, for sleep, pleasure, or both, but he ached to pass out in his own bed.
“Oh, I won’t be. Gotta stick around to keep your sexy ass in line.” She teased with a playful grin. “Which is typically why if I plan on doing heavy drinking, I’m going to do it in the comfort of my own home, drinking alcohol I bought more affordably than at the bar.” She admitted with a slight shrug.
“I mean, you already have fucked me.” Darcy couldn’t help but grin, running a hand through her hair. She both loved and hated it. She stayed in shape, but damn did she spend a lot of time hungry. “Oh good, because I definitely want to follow through with it.”
Darcy watched him get up before doing the same herself. She rolled the sleeping bag back up and tucked it into the toolbox, then slipped her boots back on. She smiled at the offer of his hand, her rosy cheeks hidden in the dark night. Taking his hand, she eased herself over the side of her truck, landing a touch more softly than he had, mostly because she had him there to help her. “I don’t blame you for that, they get busy in the morning and it’d be a shame to get stuck with a ticket. Come on, let’s get your fine ass to your truck.” she teased, giving his ass a playful smack and grab with a gentle growl, opening the passenger side door to locate her sweater.

Ferris grunted. "Very true, I have," he said. Not tonight, however. He had actually been rather hopeful for once she parked here, bt it was probably for the best. He didn't have any condoms with him and had never been the sort to just carry any around. Maybe he would have to start doing that, among other things to compete with her intensity and energy.
He admired her ease of movement and dexterity in the dark, knowing she didn't need his help. But he liked to offer anyway, partly out of habit and partly because he liked being useful. And maybe to assuage her disappointment they hadn't stayed out longer.
Ferris snorted. "You an ass gal then?" Considering she had said it twice in the span of a minute and he was almost certain those weren't the only references Darcy had made to his ass. They hadn't really talked about preferences yet, and now wasn't the time, but he couldn't help it.
Once she retrieved her sweater, he picked his clothes and phone up from the passenger side of the bench and stepped up and in. He yawned again and checked his phone for the time, surprised how late it was. "Maybe we try this camping out thing when it warms up again," he suggested.
“Oh, you’ve got a great ass that I very much enjoy appreciating.” She spoke with a playful and sultry tone, stepping around to the driver’s side and opening the door, she pulled her sweater over her head and shook her curls loose, smoothing out the sweater and climbing into the driver’s seat.
“Oh, I would love that! I can’t remember the last time I went camping for fun and not necessity.” Darcy admitted with a smile, starting up her truck and buckling her seatbelt. “And I’m gonna get you to got to an open mic night eventually, so be prepared for that.”

Ferris smiled, watching her settle herself in her truck. Even after they had talked, he still wasn't sure what she saw in him. The first time was probably just a chemical and physical attraction. But then she had texted him back...and here they were. Whatever it was, he supposed he felt a little better about himself.
"I've never camped around here, so you'll have to show me the good spots." But definitely when he wouldn't freeze his ass off if they decided to get naked under the stars again.
The mention of ipen mic night earned a wince as he fastened his own seatbelt. "It's also fine if we don't," he said awkwardly. "Ever." Because while watching an open mic was fine, he knew Darcy wouldn't be able to resist nudging him to do something.
She smiled at his admission and offered an enthusiastic nod. “Oh, absolutely. I’ve spent enough time out in these woods to know all the best spots.” Darcy truly loved her work at a Forest Ranger. It gave her so much time to help her get decent ideas on where the pack should spend time when in wolf form. It wasn’t always fun and easy work, quite the contrary, some days the work could be a real pain. But she loved all the time spent outside.
She began the trek back into town and couldn’t help but chuckle and shake her head. “Okay, Okay, I’ll be patient on that one.” She said with a smile, glancing at him momentarily before she returned her attention to the road. The drive didn’t take so very long, especially this late at night. “Or at the very least I’m going to make sure you do some fun things.”

With how the last few times he had been around Darcy had gone, Ferris had no doubt she would get him to an open mic night or some other situation where he might be asked to perform musically. Why that was so much more stressful than her asking him o perform sexually he wasn't sure. He knew he could play decently. Sing decently too. Had performed before, if not in years. Ferris didn't think it had anything to do with their conversation tonight, as so many things in his life did. At least not directly.
"Fun things?" He echoed her words, glaring at her suspiciously. Not that she could see it that well with her eyes mostly on the road. "Why do I get the feeling I should be prepared for another bear?" He very definitely needed to at least stash a condom or two I his truck. But he also felt her threat meant more than that though. He wasn't sure if he should look forward to it or not.
They returned to the diner quick enough. Ferris patted himself down to make sure he had all the same clothes and personal effects as he had climbed in with. He stepped outside with another yawn and rubbed his face. "Thankfully it's a short drive, eh?" he mumbled. "Ah," he looked across the seat at Darcy. Should he say thanks? Yes, but not right now, he needed to say that sooner next time. "I'll see later?" He offered instead. How did you say good bye to someone you were having fun with?
Darcy could practically hear the suspicion in his voice, though she kept her eyes on the road. She actually laughed when he asked if he should prepare for another bear. “Oh, I don’t know about another bear, that last one left a mark.” She teased, knowing that even with her body recovering more quickly than an average human, she still had been scarred from the encounter. “But then again, scars are the roadmap to the soul.” She’d much rather go through life taking chances and making mistakes, than the alternative of just sitting around letting life happen to you.
It didn’t take them long to get back to the diner, and she was glad he didn’t have much of a drive from here. Her’s was a touch further but not bad at all. She offered a playful smile. “I’ll see ya, when I see ya.” She winked, with the words. It wasn’t overly attached or expectant, but she’d be lying if she said she didn’t hope she saw him sooner rather than later.
