03.2023 | WELCOME BACK! Hello friends old and new! I'm so excited to welcome you all back to SITW! I've made some changes to the plot and added the ability to play supernatural charcaters! So come and check it out! I can't wait to jump back into this little town with all of you!
A strange history surrounds the town, it is a place where mysterious and supernatural things have been known to happen. The reputation of the town reguarly draws in visitors and newcomers alike. While some residents avidly believe in the supernatural, others are far more skeptical. What do you believe?

Alexis clapped her hands with a grin and bounced on her heels as she led Calliope to her car, a white audi that was a gift from her parents and was far too nice for a town like this. As they got in and she turned on the car she reached over and turned on the seat heater on Callie's seat before she put the car in reverse. "Eeee!" she squealed. "I'm so excited."
It wasn't a long drive. Almost nothing was a long drive in a town like this even though she lived in the country homes area. They pulled up to the expansive house and she hopped out of the car, looping her arm with Callie's and practically dragging her into the house as she moved towards her father's office, the first place she expected he'd be and rapped on his door. "Daddy?" she called out sweetly, a faint blush coloring her cheeks as she remembered the last time she'd called someone Daddy.

Callie followed her friend to the very nice car and couldn’t help the pinprick of envy she felt. The heated seat kicking on made Callie sigh heavily. “It’s official, you’re parents are the best. My dad gave me a family truck to ‘teach me responsibility’.” She rolled her eyes, buckling the seatbelt and enjoying just how good that heard seat felt against her back. She smiled at Alexis’ excitement and couldn’t help but slightly giggle. “This is so crazy, I can’t wait!”
The small town made for short drives, she was almost sad to leave the warmth of the seat. Callie couldn’t help but feel a little heat rise in her cheeks at the last time she remembered being in the Vanderson’s home. A party that resulted in her joining Price for some private fun in one of the bedrooms. Only afterwards did she realize it had been in West’s room. Something Callie felt rather embarrassed over, especially considering her confusing feelings for the second Vanderson son.
She followed Alexis with a smile though, pushing away her train of thoughts to focus on the current plan. Convincing Elijah Vanderson to help the girl’s find a place together.

A look of genuine surprise cross Elijah’s face as he heard his daughter’s knock and voice at his office door. He wasn’t expecting to see her reappearance at home until this evening, but it wasn’t a bad surprise. Though he did feel a little guilty at the half empty bottle of bourbon sitting on the desk. He quickly moved to put the lid back on the bottle and set it back to his bar, running a hand through his hair to make it look a little less unkempt, maybe less like someone who’d fallen asleep at his desk around 3AM after one too many drinks.
He finished the rest of the bourbon in his glass, before returning it to the bar. “It’s open, come on in Sweetie.” Elijah’s deep voice called out as he leaned against the frontside of his desk, though he’d made the move to pop a few pieces of gum in his mouth to try and mask the scent of alcohol. He doubted it would work. He just hoped she had something else to talk about other than his day drinking.

As soon as her father invited her in she bounced into the room with a bright smile. She practically skipped to his side and placed a kiss on his cheek. She could smell the alcohol, a very familiar scent to the young girl who was basically an alcoholic herself. Who was she to judge? She didn't over think why he was drinking and certainly didn't chide him for it. She'd done the same on more than one occasion. Not that he knew that. Or at least she didn't think he knew that.
"Hi Daddy!" she greeted him and then moved to the other side of the desk where she softly grabbed Callie by the wrist and tugged her so they stood side by side. "This is my good friend, Callie Barlett." She hoped the girl's surname as a member of another founding family might benefit them. "We had the best idea and we wanted to see if maybe you could help us..." the puppy dog eyes were already on point. "We want to move in together!" She beamed proudly. "We're both of age and thought it would be great to have the chance to learn a little responsibility by having to take care of a place of our own." Of course she thought ahead about how to frame the idea so that it sounded better than 'we want a place to have ragers and bring men home to'.

Callie followed Alexis into her father’s office, finding herself oddly curious to take in the sight of it all. She had formerly met Elijah Vanderson, though she was fairly well acquainted with most of his children. And having met them, she just knew he was bound to be attractive too. And she wasn’t wrong. She gave a polite smile to the man as Alexis moved to kiss his cheek and then returned to tug her by her wrist.
“Hello Mr. Vanderson, it’s a pleasure to meet you.” She offered in her best ‘polite’ tone. Callie was more than content to let Alexis handle the majority of the talking, as she figured the girl knew how best to ‘work’ her dad.
Callie was definitely impressed, the way she’d even used some of those key words parents just loved hearing their kids say, like ‘responsibility’.

Thankfully Elijah wasn’t dealing with his headache or hangover just yet, so the general cheery attitude from the teenager girls wasn’t too much for him to handle. At least so far. He tried to give his best smile at being introduced to one of Alexis’ friends, giving a polite nod to the girl. Wait. Bartlett. As in the Orchards. Another founding family. He definitely wished he was a touch more sober, not needing any tales getting back to other founding families about his issues with alcohol.
He stepped back around his desk to have a seat, motioning for the girls to do the same. “Wait, you mean like actually find a place for just the two of you?” He glanced at Callie, he didn’t know much about her personally, though he recalled something big being swept under the rug a few years ago. Sadly he wasn’t home a lot then and couldn’t remember details, just that a lot of NDA’s were involved. Aside from that, the girl didn’t look like trouble. At least she wasn’t asking about moving in with some less than deserving boyfriend.
“Well, I don’t see why not. Couldn’t hurt for me to look around what’s posted to see if something suitable is available… have you already discussed this with your mother?” He almost sounded a little annoyed at having to bring up Siobhan, but then shrugged. He truly didn’t care what that woman thought. The only female he was obligated to care about her happiness; was Alexis.

Alexis nodded at his first question as if it wasn't a big deal, as if she was asking to go with Callie out to dinner in a nearby city and nothing more. "Mhmm," she said with a smile. She waited to see what he'd say. Perhaps finding him just a bit tipsy would be to her benefit even.
She had to resist the urge to squeal when he agreed, having learned a long time ago not to make too many high pitched noises when he'd been drinking. Instead she squeezed Callie's hand excitedly. "Really, Daddy?! Oh that would be soooo wonderful if you helped us look. There is no one else I'd trust to help us find something suitable." She batted her eyelashes sweetly.
At the mention of her mother though she shook her head. "Well, no, I wanted to ask you first of course." Daddy's girl to the core.

Seeing how attentive and interested in helping them find a place made Callie a bit jealous of the relationship Alexis has with her dad. Sure Callie could easily get her way and knew how to keep her father distracted or calm in situations where he might just upset, ultimately if he wasn’t on board nothing she said could dissuade him. But Elijah Vanderson seemed more than content to just arrange to get Alexis whatever she had her mind set on. And honestly, Callie was excited by his response. Because if he was on board, even if her father wasn’t, she’d still move out. Her trust was established from her grandfather and she didn’t have to worry about money. Though the goal was not to upset the balance at home too terribly. That’s why she overall hoped her father would be supportive of the idea.
She smiled and gently returned the hand squeeze that Alexis gave her and raised a brow as she watched him inquire about whether or not she had talked to Mrs. Vanderson. Callie had never met the woman, it being heavily involved in some scandalous affairs herself, she knew there were rumors about Alexis’ mom not being as faithful as she acts. Which made her feel sad for Elijah, he was a very handsome man, and if he wasn’t her friend’s dad she might have tried flirting with him. But he seemed like someone who was carrying a heavy weight… which was likely why he smelled of liquor before 5pm.

Elijah was appreciative of the way his daughter refrained from squealing her excitement, especially after the night he’d had and the way his day had already started going. But he gave a half smile as he nodded and glanced at his watch on his wrist. If he took some time to look, he could make a day for them getting to see what he found.
“Of course princess, I wouldn’t let anyone else handle this.” namely because he knew the seedier parts of town to avoid, but also knew the best locations for privacy and safety. Though he wasn’t such a stick in the mud, he’d make sure they didn’t wind up with neighbors who were constantly calling in noise complaints. They were young, and deserved to have fun after all.
Hearing she had not mentioned this to Siobhan made him grin in amusement. She’d would absolutely be against this. So, he was even more motivated to help his little girl find a place with her friend. Anything to piss off his wife. “Well, just leave it to me. I don’t want her taking the wind out of your sails.” He said as he leaned back in his chair slightly and looked at his desktop as it whirred to life. He’d get started looking right away, it would be a nice distraction.

Alexis absolutely beamed when he told her not to worry about telling her mother. She was a daddy's girl through and through and had no problem with deceiving her mom to get what she wanted. "Oh thank you daddy! I'm just go show Callie around." She pressed a sweet kiss to his cheek before she took Callie's hand and tugged her out of the room, closing the door behind her. She wrapped her arms tightly around her soon-to-be roommate and made a quiet squeal of excitement. "It's really happening!"

Callie couldn’t help but smile at seeing him agreeing to help them find a place and Alexis gave his a kiss on the cheek before pulling her from the room. She gave a wave of her hand to the man as she left with Alexis, then felt her friend’s arms around her in a rush of excitement.
Were they truly doing this? Callie was absolutely giddy and ready to burst from excitement, she beamed back to Alexis with a nod. “Your Dad seems amazing girl, I can’t wait to see what he finds for us to check out!”

"Oh he's the best," she crooned about her father, and it was clear she believed it. What reason did she have not to adore him when he almost always gave her just what she wanted. The two girls moved to the living room and sat down on the couch, chatting about what they dreamed for their new place while her father looked for potential places.
About an hour later Alexis looked towards the office door. "I hope he'll be done soon. I hope he's found some good places to go check out." She definitely had ants in her pants and wanted to go and actually look at a few places. Surely her dad could pull some strings in order to get in today. Hopefully.
