03.2023 | WELCOME BACK! Hello friends old and new! I'm so excited to welcome you all back to SITW! I've made some changes to the plot and added the ability to play supernatural charcaters! So come and check it out! I can't wait to jump back into this little town with all of you!
A strange history surrounds the town, it is a place where mysterious and supernatural things have been known to happen. The reputation of the town reguarly draws in visitors and newcomers alike. While some residents avidly believe in the supernatural, others are far more skeptical. What do you believe?
His words had her eyes instantly flying up to him in disbelief of what she was hearing. He... was asking her to prom? The explanation that followed made logical sense of course. The smile that he tacked on made her smile back just a bit, her cheeks still pink as she let out a nervous laugh. What was she to say to that? Her eyes looked around them as if she expected someone to pop out and laugh at her for thinking he was serious.
When Milo cleared his throat, she was back to giving him her full attention. Her name made her laugh once again and she bit the corner of her bottom lip. A giddiness inside of her rose and she played with a small piece of paper that was in her pant pocket. “I’d.... I’d actually really like that Milo.” Even if it was just so the two of them didn’t have to be the third wheels for their friends. She felt her heart rate increase just a bit at the thought of him dressed up. Well, it would certainly make for an interesting night.
Milo wouldn’t have blamed her if she had rejected him. Beyond his idiotic way of asking her, he was also a tattooed kid with a pierced nose who lived in a trailer park. He didn’t want to be viewed like that but he knew what most people assumed about him when they looked at him. And they weren’t entirely wrong either. But he was determined that his life now was not what it would always be.
When she actually said yes his smiled brightened and he felt a breath of relief leave him. “Awesome! Great!” he replied maybe a bit too enthusiastically. “I’ll pick you up at 5:00? We can go to dinner before the dance?” He suggested.
His relief and bright smile made her weak in the knees. Just like those romance novels she liked to read at home. Her own face lighting up at the enthusiasm as it comforted her to hear it in his voice. “Yeah, that sounds great actually.” She said and then reached into her back pocket and pulled out her phone. She unlocked it and quickly created a new contact and handed her phone over to him. “Here,” she’d need his number to at least be able to send him an address to pick her up at.
“Perfect!” He hadn’t come here today expecting to ask Journey to the prom, but he was feeling pretty pumped about how this day had turned out. He pulled out his phone and did the same, unlocking for it and creating a new contact before handing it to her, accepting her phone with his other hand at the same time.
He typed in his name (Milo Best Prom Date Ever 😉) and his number and hit save before handing it back to her. “Oh, so you never answered my question. What are your thoughts on matching?” he asked with a grin, the tip of his tongue reaching out to touch his top lip again.
Her hand reached for his phone as he took hers. Her own hand typing in her name (Journey McCann ) and then her number underneath and even went as far as to save her address in the contact as well. “Since you are picking me up.” She explained with a small tint to her cheeks, handing the phone back over to him. Only to laugh lightly when she saw the name he had put in for himself. “Hopefully you live up to that name.” Not that she had anyone to compare him to.
The tongue thing was a quirk that she found herself liking. “Matching flowers, but if you show up in the same dress I might not be able to outshine you.” It was the best tease she had, so she went with it. “I’ll send you a picture of the color of my dress if you’d like?”
“Damn, I had the perfect dress too,” he teased with a smirk, snapping his fingers in mock disappointment. “Oh well, I’m sure people will appreciate your beauty over mine any day.”
He slipped his phone back into his pocket. “For real though, a picture of your dress will be great.” He was sure the Irwin farm got a nice boost of income come prom season for the sell of flowers. “Well, I don’t want to hold you up, but I’ll see you later then?”
A soft laugh left her, a light shrug lifting her shoulders as she did. Slipping her own phone back into her back pocket as he agreed to the picture. “I’ll take it when I get home then.” She said with a small nod, thinking of the dress she had already gotten. It wasn’t anything flashy or over the top, it was perfect for her in a way.
“I’ll see you later, best prom date ever.” She said, starting down the stairs and she flash him a smile over her shoulder. “Bye Milo.” She grinned before she dug around for her keys and unlocked her car. Slipping into the drivers seat and tossing her back into the back seat. Well, that was an interesting trip to the library.
Milo watched her walk away, smiling to himself. It wasn't what he expected from his hang out at the library but he certainly wasn't complaining. At least he wouldn't have to be a loner at prom and he got to go with a cute girl. Win win.
