A strange history surrounds the town, it is a place where mysterious and supernatural things have been known to happen. The reputation of the town reguarly draws in visitors and newcomers alike. While some residents avidly believe in the supernatural, others are far more skeptical. What do you believe?

General personality: Kalena is a natural born leader who pushes herself and those around her to be the best they can be. She always has an idea in her mind, and is always looking for ways to execute it. She is a perfectionist who brings order and beauty to the things she touches, whether asked to or not. Her diligence and attention to detail are nearly unparalleled, as is her tendency to grow impatient and lose her cool. Failing at a task in any way is likely to send her into a state of emotional upheaval. Kalena is the kind of girl who you want to keep on your good side. If she’s fighting for you then you’re sure to win, but if she’s fighting against you then it’s very likely you’ll fall, even if she has to fall with you.
HISTORY

General History: Kalena is the second oldest child and last born of the heads of the Irwin founding family. Her mother’s ability to conceive Kalena and her brother and then carry them to full term was a miracle in itself, fraught with hardship and loss. Years after Kalena’s birth her parents adopted her two younger siblings from Africa.
As a founding family member, Kalena had everything she wanted growing up, and was a queen among her peers. She was naturally good at academics, athletic, and beautiful; the world was her oyster. She ran her social circles with little effort. Dated the stud of the school. Won both homecoming and prom queen. Graduated suma cum lade. Then, in a surprising turn of events, got pregnant by that studly high school boyfriend. This was when her life of achievement and perfection came to a screeching halt. Kalena and her baby’s daddy, Grey, ran from the judgement of the town by leaving Sweetwater.
Kalena was gone for seven years. She was only eighteen when she drove away with her boyfriend in her Porsche, and was sure that they could make it on hard work and love. They quickly discovered differently. For the first time in her life, Kalena was forced to work. She lived in a one bedroom house. She cooked her own food. It was torture. Grey worked hard too, and eventually became a police officer. Life wasn’t easy but they pulled through. They had a shotgun wedding right before the baby was born. Venus. Kalena’s world.
Just when pulling through started to become good, Grey was shot and killed on duty. Debilitated by the loss, Kalena was retrieved by her parents and brought home. She and Venus spent the first year back in Sweetwater (at 6 and 25) adjusting to life without their rock. Once Kalena was back in gear, she was a force to be reckoned with. She attended college online and finished a bachelor’s degree in business in only 2 1/2 years. From there she got her Master’s in Business, and became the manager of the Sweetwater bank. She moved out of her parent’s home and bought prime real estate in the Woodlands. Impressed by the intense perseverance and recovery of their daughter, Keith and Mariela named Kalena the family representative when she turned 30, to her older brother’s shock. Kalena truly was the prodigal daughter.
In the last year Kalena has put managing the bank on the back burner in favor of working at the schools. She teaches business classes at the community college, economics and business electives at the high school, and she coaches cheerleading. She doesn’t work for the money—she doesn’t need it—but for the opportunity to invest in the lives of young people. She hopes to help them not follow in her footsteps.
