General personality: King is smart, funny, and even charming when he wants to be; he usually doesn't want to be. He chooses to be sarcastic, irritable, and even crude most of the time--though not in the classroom. He is a grown man who chooses to be immature because he has been scorned by the world and is out to stick it to the man. He doesn't take much seriously anymore. He's a faker on multiple levels.

HISTORY

Family Members: King's parents are still alive; he also has a younger sister who is not in Sweetwater.

General History: King is the guy who should have made more of his life but is settling for less. He was born to accomplished parents (not in Sweetwater), he had natural smarts and is well-spoken, and academics came easily to him. His childhood was free of trauma and neglect; he was loved and his parents gave him everything. He was a gifted athlete. In fact, he graduated int he top five at his high school and attended Duke University in North Carolina on a basketball scholarship. He double majored in English and Political Science while he played ball at Duke for 5 years. His intention was to become a lawyer. That's around when things went south.

He wasn't good enough at basketball to go pro, and apparently he wasn't good enough to get into law school. He passed his LSAT, but barely, and none of his top choice schools would accept him. He was 23 when he got his first rejection letter, and it was the first time in his life he had ever tasted the bitterness of failure. Determined to meet his goals, he spent the next two years studying and retaking the test. It seemed he had met an opponent he could not overcome. He was 25 when he finally decided he was done trying. Not just done trying to become a lawyer, but done trying in general. His soul was defeated, and he decided to embrace the opposite site of life: the party life; the lazy life; a lifestyle that raised the middle finger to the world and its systems.

King joined a biker gang at 26 and became especially good friends with Axel . He traveled to Sweetwater with Axel each year, and when his friend decided to settle down there King was all in. He had nothing better to do.

When he was looking for a job Sweetwater High School was in need of specific teaching roles, and although King had no aspirations to teach, he accepted what was given to him. He is in his second year of teaching at Sweetwater. He teaches the core subject English and his elective is Political Science. He also coaches boy's and girl's basketball, and is an assistant coach for the football team.
