03.2023 | WELCOME BACK! Hello friends old and new! I'm so excited to welcome you all back to SITW! I've made some changes to the plot and added the ability to play supernatural charcaters! So come and check it out! I can't wait to jump back into this little town with all of you!
A strange history surrounds the town, it is a place where mysterious and supernatural things have been known to happen. The reputation of the town reguarly draws in visitors and newcomers alike. While some residents avidly believe in the supernatural, others are far more skeptical. What do you believe?

Jasper chuckled at Brian’s comment about the town’s leaflets. “Glad I could be of service! I’ve had a bit of time to get familiar with the place, so it’s no trouble at all.” He noticed the shift in Brian’s expression and sensed the weight of his concerns.
When Brian inquired about hiking groups, Jasper raised an eyebrow, slightly surprised. “Actually, there are a few local groups that hike and explore the surrounding forests and mountains. It’s a popular activity here. There’s even a club that organizes regular outings, if you’re looking for something structured.”
He glanced at Brian, sensing that the question came from a deeper need than just curiosity. “It’s a good way to meet people and enjoy the outdoors. If you’re interested, I can point you in the right direction. I think one of the forest rangers is pretty involved in all that… Vance, I think is her last name.” Jasper offered a slight shrug. He hadn’t met her personally, but had seen her in passing a few times around town.
Brian despite Jasper’s much needed sense of normality was brought back to his anxieties one of the core issues being his lycanthropy . It was the matter of a safe place to transform or retreat into if he couldn’t bring himself to pull the . . no , he wouldn’t think about that right now . There seemed to be fair , decent , people in Sweetwater and he wasn’t going to threat their lives with a possible threat of a beast .
A knot formed in his stomach noticing Jasper’s expression , but he didn’t seem too suspicious . He / hated / lying to people specially those who had a good heart ( like Jasper . ) “ A club with such vast areas to explore and possibly go huntin’ ! I reckon that’s a mighty fine idea . “
Both of their eyes would meet with his expression edged with lines of tension . Brian then had a good way to throw off any suspicions about his intentions if Jasper had the slightest hint of doubt about him . “ You see . I’ve been struggling to find anyone else who has my type of hobbies or idea of fun , so thank you for the great suggestion . “ Downplaying the reason for his anxiety he’d hope the fake story about his crippling loneliness might throw him off the scent .
“ Anyway . I think, you could introduce me to them another time , say what about that drink ? “ Brian smiled walking closer to join Jasper .

Jasper had noticed the tension in Brian’s expression but chose not to press. He knew when someone was holding back, but he also understood that people needed their space to open up. “Hunting and exploring, huh? You’d fit right in with the folks around here.” Jasper said, his tone easy, as if Brian’s story about loneliness was all there was to it. He wasn’t about to push a man who clearly had enough on his plate. As a man who was medicated for his own anxiety, he didn’t like to push people too hard. Crazy to think that a man who worked as an EMT suffered from severe anxiety and was a shell of the man with Brian right now when he wasn’t adequately medicated.
As they approached the bar, the familiar neon sign of Purgatory flickered above the door, casting a warm, inviting glow over the street. Jasper opened the door, the hum of conversation and the clinking of glasses welcoming them inside. “No worries, man. We’ll talk more about that later. Right now, let’s get that drink.”
Inside the air was thick with the scent of whiskey and wood polish, a typical small-town bar vibe. Jasper led the way to a couple of stools at the bar, motioning for Brian to join him. “First round’s on me.” He said, catching the bartender’s attention and surprised to see his sister wasn’t working tonight.
As they settled in, Jasper leaned back a bit, trying to ease some of the tension he’d noticed in Brian earlier. “So, what’s your drink? You mentioned Jack earlier—feeling loyal to that tonight?” He asked, recalling the man mentioning the bottle of Jack calling his name earlier in conversation. He glanced around the room, almost as if he thought he might see someone he knew. But nope, she wasn’t at the local watering hole tonight. He couldn’t help but wonder just what his sister might be up to. “And I don’t know her myself but just in passing, but I could try and facilitate an introduction.” His thoughts returning to the mention of the forest ranger.
Brian heard Jasper’s voice in his mind ( “ You’ll fit right in ! “ ) How could / something / like him fit in anywhere let alone the welcoming community known as Sweetwater . Until the day he died : Brian would be nothing more than an outcast , loner , and a wolf wearing sheep’s clothing . It was highly likely that the curse that been inflicted upon him was the only one in the entire world and the man who had killed his father passed it onto him like some twisted inheritance . Maybe , he would have the courage to squeeze the trigger , or be caught in a bell bar of a semi truck after trying to cross the street on all fours .
Goosebumps covered his entire body ; a rampant headache suddenly struck him . Brian was overwhelmed by the sheer amount of senses that oozed out of the bar : it was intense ! If Jasper had caught his bewildered expression and hesitant body language , it would quickly be played off by a half smile . “ Mighty fine idea . “
Like a boat passing through a storm , Brian fought to control his inner wolf that was taking in everything , it was a short battle with the man coming on top . Oceanic eyes blinked eventually catching the sight of Japser gesturing for him to sit . “ Appreciate it , friend . “ A friendly pat tapped the EMT on the shoulder warmly .
Brian took a deep breath attempting to get comfortable on the wooden stool letting his rather heavy arms rest out in front of him on the bar counter . “ Loyal as a married man ! “ He drily chuckled feeling that tinge of pain subsiding . “ Me and Jack might as well be married , ha . “ He didn’t follow Jasper’s curiosity , instead opting to focus on the bars supply of different poisons . “ You sure ? I mean , you’ve already done enough for me , partner . “

Jasper caught the flicker of discomfort in Brian’s eyes, but before he could ask if everything was alright, Brian was already playing it off with that half-smile. Jasper wasn’t one to pry, especially not when a man was clearly wrestling with something deeper. Still, he had a way of keeping the conversation easy, like the flow of a slow river.
“Mighty fine it is, then,” Jasper replied, his tone warm as he returned the pat on the shoulder with a nod. He could sense the weight in Brian’s movements, the effort it took for him to settle into the bar stool. There was something about the man that reminded Jasper of people who carried too much alone, and he respected the space it took for someone to even sit still. Of course, as a man who was medicated for his own issues with anxiety, he wasn’t about to pry.
“Loyal as a married man, huh?” Jasper chuckled along with him, sensing that dry humor was Brian’s way of coping with whatever storm brewed inside. “Jack’s good company, no doubt.”
When Brian hesitated at the offer, Jasper waved him off with a smile. “You’ve got nothing to worry about. I’m happy to cover it. Besides, you’re the one who’s gonna owe me after this, right?” His eyes glinted with humor as he signaled the bartender.
He leaned against the bar, trying to keep things light, but he didn’t miss how Brian’s eyes scanned the bottles, like a man trying to lose himself for a bit. Jasper didn’t push; he just kept the atmosphere relaxed, making sure Brian felt like he had a place here, even if it was just for a drink. "So, I think once you’re properly settled in town, we ought to find you a tour guide for the place…. Preferably a cute one." He teased with a wink, nodding toward a group of ladies at a booth who seemed to be looking their way.
