Between the weather, work and the uptick in tourists for the colder season; Gemma was in dire need of a girl’s night in. So, after a quick phone call to her gal-pal Seung, Gemma was stopping at the liquor store after work picking up a box of wine. She ignored the look from the cashier as she made her purchase and packed the box to her car, werewolves had higher tolerance, a few bottles wouldn’t be any fun at all. But twelve? She shook her head, texting a picture of the box of assorted wines to Seung with the words ‘bag secured 🤣’. Okay, so maybe Gemma wasn’t the best when it came to texting, but she tried.
She drove her Jeep the familiar route to her home and gave a soft sigh as she pulled into the driveway of her cute little home in West Haven. It wasn’t big or flashy, she was a police deputy afterall, it’s not like she was overly wealthy. But she was comfortably situated. A simple two bedroom home in a comfortable neighborhood. She grabbed the box of wine and pushed the button for her garage door to open.
Once inside, Gemma set the bottles of white wine in the fridge and left the reds on the counter. She then went to shower and change from her work clothes.
An hour later, Gemma was wearing some black yoga pants and a navy blue knit sweater, hair in a loose braid and music playing as she started setting out some of the staples for girl’s night: a ridiculous attempt at a charcuterie board that had much more meat and cheese than crackers, fruit and veggie trays and some boneless ‘naked’ wings with sauces on the side. Those items and the wine were typically what Gemma covered.
