03.2023 | WELCOME BACK! Hello friends old and new! I'm so excited to welcome you all back to SITW! I've made some changes to the plot and added the ability to play supernatural charcaters! So come and check it out! I can't wait to jump back into this little town with all of you!
A strange history surrounds the town, it is a place where mysterious and supernatural things have been known to happen. The reputation of the town reguarly draws in visitors and newcomers alike. While some residents avidly believe in the supernatural, others are far more skeptical. What do you believe?
Well, she knew it was bound to happen. Especially with her lack of experience of driving vehicles in this weather. She sat waiting with the vehicle to get it towed to the Fix-It Auto Shop, only slightly frustrated with how cold she was feeling. Though, she supposed it could have been worse. Thankfully it didn’t take long for the tow truck to arrive, and he was more than willing to let Hal ride with him to the auto shop. Okay, so maybe she abused the hell out of her siren song. But what was the point of having this ability and not putting it to use? It would be such a waste otherwise. And she’d be so bored.
Still, when she stepped out of the tow truck and walked up to the counter, she pulled the beanie off her head and ran a hand through her hair. A pair of light wash jeans hugged her petite frame, a cream colored sweater and black coat kept her warm, though she still seemed determined to wear impractical shoes for the weather. A pair of flats that just barely did the job keeping her feet warm. She looked around and still didn’t see anyone, so she gave a gentle tap to the ‘ring for service’ bell at the counter.
It was a slow day. Things had been pretty quiet and Rhett, bored with paperwork for one day, had started to work on one of the trucks out in the shop. He had forgotten his ear buds so had opted to play music from the speakers in the shop. Guns N' Roses 'Sweet Child O' Mine' was playing at a level quiet enough to allow for talking as Rhett lay had basically half of his body inside the hood of the truck.
At the sound of the bell he groaned. No one else was currently around to answer it so he'd have to stop half way through this job to go and help whoever was out there. He pushed himself away from the truck and grabbed a rag to attempt to wipe at least some of the oil from his stained fingers. He was still wiping when he came around to the front and saw the knockout standing there.
"Hey there," he greeted her, "what can I do ya for?"

Hal waited patiently, her perfectly manicured black nails strummed lightly against the counter as she listened to the music playing. Dark hair swept over her shoulder as she turned to look at the man who spoke to her. Hal couldn’t help but smile, was everyone in this town so attractive? Maybe that was why she liked it here so much.
“Oh, hello!” She responded pleasantly, looking back to where to tow truck was off loading her vehicle. It was a vehicle that definitely didn’t belong on the road in this weather; a white 2018 Camaro SS. It now had some pretty extensive cosmetic damage from catching a spot of ice and sliding along some guardrail before cramming a fence post. Thankfully she wasn’t hurt further, just a little cut above the arch of her left eyebrow, which gave away her deep sea scent.
“So apparently I’m a terrible driver in this weather. I’m needing my vehicle assessed, and a recommendation on where I can get a rental until it’s back on the road again.” She admitted softly, eyes returning to the man with a smile.
Rhett moved to the opposite side of the counter as he caught the sight behind her of her car being towed into the lot. He noticed the cut over her eyebrow and had to admit that it was a good look on the otherwise perfection of a person who stood before him. She definitely didn't look like she belonged in this shop or even in this town. She looked liked she'd be a better fit in New York or LA.
"The snow can certainly be quite tricky, especially if you aren't used to it," he couldn't help but assume she was from out of town and was only passing through. He caught a scent then. Was that...the ocean? Even with the cold he could almost imagine being on the beach and watching the waves roll in. It must be some perfume she was wearing but damn it was intoxicating.
"Alright, let's get you into the system so we can get you the help you need. Name?" he asked, pulling the keyboard to the computer a bit closer to himself.

“You’d think I’d be used to it after three years.” Hal teased with a gentle shake of her head, despite her poor luck today; this was the first time she’d actually damaged a vehicle in this weather. Typically she babied her vehicle, but she got a little big for her britches today. She sighed and watched as the man moved back around the counter and to the computer.
“Thanks, I appreciate it.” Hal said with a charming smile as she leaned against the counter. “Halah Ramzi.” She offered with a nod, spelling her name out for him because she knew it definitely wasn’t a normal name to hear around these parts.
She started to raise a brow and then winced a little, hand moving to gently feel above her brow. “Could I trouble you for a napkin or something?”
Rhett appreciated that she spelled her name because he definitely hesitated over the keyboard before she did. He entered her name and was filling out some of the other fields when she requested a napkin. He looked up, noting the wound again and moved around the other side. "Yah, of course," he walked out of the front reception and into the garage, grabbing a first aid kit that was near the door and bringing it back. He pulled out some clean clothes, an antibacterial wipe, and a small bandage.
"I could show you where the bathroom is if you'd like to use the mirror," he offered but then added, "Or I could help you. Whatever is easier."

“Thank-you.” Hal said with a soft smile as she watched him move to look for something, seeing him return a few moments later with a first aid kit. She gave a slightly pitiful look as she shrugged and attempted to raise a brow to ask a question, but winced again at the movement. “Would you mind terribly if I’d prefer the help?” She asked with a gentle, if not slightly awkward laugh. Couldn’t help it, she’d much rather sit there and play patient to the sexy mechanic, especially if it meant getting to enjoy staring at his very chiseled features.
Wrecking her car wasn’t at all planned, but if she’d known this town seemed to house so many attractive men in these service position, she might just need to be a touch more clumsy. Police officers, firefighters and now mechanics.
No, Rhett definitely didn't mind, but he didn't want to seem too eager either. He'd be blind to not see how gorgeous this unfortunate driver was and any excuse to get closer to her was a welcome on. "Nah, don't mind at all," he said casually as if there was nothing else he was thinking about.
He moved to the other side of the desk and pulled out the wipe so that he could oh so gently wipe the excess blood away from the wound. "Sorry, I hope that doesn't hurt too much," he said as they stood close together while he worked, trying to be careful.

The smile that pulled across her lips seemed innocent enough, but there was a spark of mischief in her eyes as she watched her move from the far side of the desk and stepped around to stand with her, so closely while he tended to the minor cut. She gave a slight wince, but chuckled a little as she waved a hand. “Oh, it’s not that bad.” She said with a soft smile, batting those dark lashes at him as she hummed softly, quite enjoying his proximity to her.
“So, perhaps this is a bit forward of me, but I’m not known for being shy… what are the chances of you giving me a call if I give you my number?” She attempted to raise an eyebrow and then winced again, laughing as she felt a touch ridiculous over how her face must look when she winced.
Rhett was not immune to being aware of how close they were standing. She was absolutely gorgeous too, he'd been an idiot...or dead...if he couldn't see that and enjoy the excuse for close proximity. Her skin was a porcelain kind of pale in contrast to her darker features and it was a very appealing look. He was thinking about finding a way to connect with her again when she beat him to the punch. She was bold too, he liked that.
He finished gently dabbing the blood away and his gaze moved from the wound and down to her eyes though he didn't try to step any further away from her. He smiled, with a handsome but slightly cocky half grin. "I'd say those would be pretty high chances," he replied. He pulled out his phone and pulled open a new contact before handing it to her to fill out as he reached for a bandage, unwrapping it and setting the garbage on the counter beside them as he gently placed it over the cut on her head. It wasn't too bad but he felt the bandage would be more helpful than leaving it exposed. "After all, I'm going to want to make sure you're recovering properly," he said, half forgetting he was supposed to be working right now.

This man was devilishly handsome, tall, knew his way around tending to vehicles and seemed well built… she couldn’t help but find herself interested. Though, it wasn’t common for her to actually flirt and express interest without utilizing her siren song. But then again, she was a touch distracted by his proximity. She liked that he didn’t make any immediate move to put space between them, there was something quite intriguing about him she couldn’t quite place her finger on.
Hal couldn’t help but offer that playfully sweet smile of hers at his words, accepting his phone and tapping in her number as well as her name. She bit back from wincing at the bandage being placed, appreciating how thorough he was being. “How lucky for me.” Hal mused with a wink as she handed him his phone back. “And when you do reach out, I’ll be sure to buy you a drink as a ‘thank-you’.” She said with a tone that suggested she had no doubt that he would indeed be reaching out to her eventually.
Hal wasn’t oblivious to how attractive she was, in fact; her many mirrors around her apartment was a clear indication of just how vain she could be at times. She didn’t need to rely on her siren’s song for piquing someone’s interest. It was more for using when she wanted to be in control… which she preferred to be often. But there was a certain level of enjoyment she experienced knowing he was interested in her without her telling him to be. “But you’ve got me at a disadvantage; you know my name, but I don’t know yours.” Hal said with a smile, she was looking forward to hearing from him again.
