The wolf's smile was one that seemed genuine enough, and rather handsome he had to admit, yet Gia tried to find anything else hidden behind the expression. A smile could mean so many things. As Tristan leaned in to look into the room, Giacomo remained where he was standing, causing the two of them to stand quite close together. While a werewolf definitely had more sensitive scent receptors than a vampire, at this distance Giacomo caught the smell of something nice like shampoo or cologne more strongly than before as well as a now familiar 'canine' scent. He had to admit that it wasn't all that deterring.
When the man brushed against him, however 'accidental' it seemed, it still further sparked Gia's interest and for a brief moment Tristan might just catch the moment his eyes dilated slightly before returning to normal. He looked the man up and down without trying to hide what he was doing and then met his gaze again. "Then follow me," he said, stepping away to walk further down the hall. Giacomo was far from shy when it came to his art. So much so that he rarely even closed the door to his studios so that people walking by could easily see the greatness that was inside.
They soon reached a room filled with various marble pieces. It was a medium he'd been working with more and more lately and while he was his harshest critic, their quality and skill nearly matched many of the great artists of old. There were three main pieces in the room. The middle one seemed finished though Gia had been staring it at for months, trying to decide what was missing. It was the largest piece of a horse on it's hind legs with a woman riding atop it, her hair and dress flowing behind her. The piece on the left was half done and with the head and torso of a man and hand that was almost touching the face. The piece on the right hadn't been touched yet at all though Gia had spent at least several hours just staring at the block of marble trying to decide what it was meant to be.
He stepped fully into the room this time to allow the man to move around the statues, the vampire's eyes never left him, studying his expressions and body language to try to determine what he thought of the work.

The werewolf noticed the man's interested, though he wasn't so familiar with vampires to read him very well. Giacomo especially seemed quite well versed at hiding his emotions. Not in any active way, but how a tiger innately knew to mask the sound of its paws steps by how it placed each paw. Whereas Tristan's often more stoic expressions felt clumsy by comparison, as he simply wasn't good at displaying his feelings. He had to remind himself to smile sometimes, though he supposed that made such displays more meaningful. He felt the same was true of the vampire. If he showed something, it had meaning.
Those slightly dilated pupils and then the way he looked him up and down once again. Tristan felt as if the man was admiring him in turn just as he admired the art. He knew he was quite striking.
Tristan followed closely behind the vampire, catching a few glimpses of the works in other room but not lagging behind. He was far too curious about the other man. While he might have Renaissance from the art, the marble was a surprise, one that had him wondering if the man wasn't even older. The horse and rider were magnificent and even the unfinished status that was just a bust for now was some of the finest marble work he had ever seen. While the werewolf was quite good at graphite and other 2D media, three dimensions was something he struggled to bring his visions to life in. Clearly Giacomo did not have this problem.
He barely waited for the man to clear the doorway before he stepped past him to view the art up close. He reached out a gentle hand toward the horse's flank but paused and looked back at the artist in wordless question. He would like to touch, but he would contain himself if it was preferred he not. He simply wanted to brush the marble, to see if he could feel the texture of the smooth worked stone. Even in the intricate details of the woman's robe, the horse's mane, and the man's fingernails, he could hardly detect a hint of the tools used. He made a few slow passes on the two pieces, admiring them silently, before stopping to look at the third block.
This his understood. The taking of a blank canvas, a block of stone, a building wall, a slab of wood grain, a mound of clay, even a digital page, and determining what it wanted to be. It could take a long time. He wondered how long this piece had sat here. Where the marble was shipped from. How long the horse's facial features alone took. What tools he used. If he had any forever homes in mind. But for the moment, the werewolf simply marveled at the man's work in silence.

Giacomo had kept his distance at first, watching from inside the room but not getting into Tristan's space as to allow him the movement necessary to examine the marble. As the werewolf reached out towards the marble there was a little immediate twist in Gia's gut, a sense of not trusting that this man had true intentions and wasn't about to try to push it over and destroy it. After all, it had taken Giacomo no small amount of time to finish that piece to the place it was currently at. Though he also hoped the werewolf wouldn't be so reckless or all the white in the room would soon have a new color added. Blood red.
However, after his first instinctual reaction he allowed himself a moment of consideration before he gave the man a nod, deciding to take the risk and allow the man to touch the marble. Gia still watched him closely but was more focused on the way his fingers moved over the stone rather than on any chance he'd try to destroy the artwork. He remained closer to Tristan now, following him at a slow but still staying out of his way and moving to catch the man's facial expressions as he examined the marble.
As Tristan stopped by the final block of marble, Gia moved to stand beside him, close enough that they could easily brush against each other yet he did not take the opportunity at the moment, instead clasping his hands behind his back as he looked straight ahead at the stone though in reality his full attention was still on the man standing beside him.
After a long moment he spoke, "You're very quiet..."
