PHINEAS THORNE Andrew Garfield
DETAILS
Species: Human Species Appearance: N/A. Occupation: High school Chemistry teacher Residence: North Arbor Apartments Age: 29 Birthday: August 20 Height: 5’11” Weight: 165 lbs Hair Color: Brown Eye Color: Brown Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Notable features: Phineas is tall and slender. His hair is usually unruly and messy but he never seems to care. He rarely dresses down and most of the time can be found wearing a collared-button shirt with a tie, a sweater over the collared shirt, or a suit jacket (even when he wears jeans). He occasionally wears glasses when he forgets to wear contacts. He has several scars on his hands and arms due to his years in the lab running experiments and dealing with the faulty ones.
General personality: Phineas is an all-around nice guy, but extremely quirky and nerdy. He almost always has a smile or some kind of goofy expression on his face. He loves to laugh, especially at himself and the mistakes he makes. His students typically love him because he acts more like a friend than an authority figure (though some of them make fun of him because of his quirky nature). He is down-to-earth, friendly, and extremely smart. He loves blowing things up and is always tinkering with, or trying to create things. He loves anything related to chemistry and mixing unusual ingredients to see what happens. When he does his experiments, he tries to do out-of-the-ordinary ones (Sometimes they are successful, other times they backfire or literally blow up on him).
HISTORY
Education: Masters in Chemistry Years in Sweetwater: 3 Family Members: Parents: Adam Thorne & Melanie Faulkner-Thorne
General History: Phineas was the only son of Adam and Melanie Thorne. He had a normal and ordinary childhood (for the most part), but both his parents were busy and absorbed in their own careers, so he was often left with a relative, babysitter, or in his later years, by himself. He always seemed and acted a lot older than he was both emotionally and intellectually. Phineas showed signs of intelligence at such a young age, that he might have skipped a couple of grades or started college earlier than most.
He was often bullied and made fun of in school because he was a brainiac nerd with an awkward personality that set him apart from the others. He always kept a good attitude about it and pretended it never bothered him and that he was oblivious to it all. He wouldn't let them break him down, even though it did hurt. It was one reason he got into teaching (he wanted to make a difference and advocate for his students to respect and be kind to others).
After taking his first chemistry in high school, he realized that was his passion and what he wanted to do and teach. His teacher was a huge mentor of his and he made a difference in his life. To this day, he still keeps in touch with him.
Phineas went to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and earned his Master’s degree, graduating at the top of his class. Afterward, he went on to work in various labs, trying to make a difference in the world, but it never quite felt right to him and he felt unfulfilled.
There was one day he happened to find a random ad for a job in Sweetwater Colorado looking for a high school chemistry teacher. It seemed like a sign–one he needed to follow. He applied for the position and got it. So he packed up everything and moved out to Colorado where he has taught now for three years, hoping to make a difference as his chemistry teacher had done for him.
