General personality: Tate is known to be a bit awkward and strange. He has obsessive tendencies and gets stuck on various topics for a time until a new obsession takes it's place. Once it was everything to do with bats, once it was the rumors of a haunted house in town, and once it was a girl who was so pretty he thought he might die if he never got to see her again. He nearly always has his camera on him, using it almost like a security blanket. It's just so much easier to watch the world from behind his lens than to be involved in it directly.

Still, he's likeable enough if you can get past his strange habits. He is observant of people and what's going on in their lives. He cares and is thoughtful, always remembering your birthday and the names of your pets and children. He expresses himself with his photography or with random sketches.

General History: TRIGGER WARNING: Murder
Tate was born in Michigan. He had a loving family and though he and his siblings fought like all siblings do, there was still mostly love there. When Tate was 10 he was shocked by the sudden turn of events that things would take. His father, George, had been keeping secrets, mostly financial in nature and they were in a terrible situation. George decided that the only way out was to end it. Tate would be the only to survive, his father having missed vital organs and Tate playing dead while he watched the rest of his family die at the hands of his father.

He was put into the foster system, not having any family that would take him. Tate was the kind of kid in school that was thought of as lazy and a troublemaker. He got into a lot of fights and did poorly in his classes. It wasn't that he wasn't smart, just that he felt there were better things to do with his time than things like homework. The only classes he did well in were his art classes, photography soon becoming his favorite. While he had a few instances of interested families, he would ultimately never be adopted.

He didn't graduate HS but a year later got his GED and worked odd jobs until he was 20 and moved to the town of Sweetwater in hopes of getting a fresh start. He got the job as the photographer at the Tribune and has worked there for 3 years. It's something he's very proud of and he works hard to continually impress his boss with the shots he manages to get. A year ago he finally had enough money to get his own place though only a small trailer in Sunny Heights. Still, he's proud of that too.
