Notable features: None. No major scars, no tattoos, nothing that would make him stand out from the crowd or make him easily identifiable in a police lineup.
PERSONALITY
Likes: The smell of leather and tobacco, pop tarts, good coffee, well written novels Dislikes: Being criticised, reality television, hospitals, cats, surrealist art, Strengths: Intelligent, actually enjoys running for fitness, has an absurd amount of free time and resources, charming, Weaknesses: Quick to anger, not particularly self aware, self absorbed, often ‘sees red’
General personality: Christopher generally comes across as a confident man, exuding charm and charisma - he has an uncanny ability to make you feel like you’re the most incredible person in the room, make you feel like the sun is constantly shining on you and he is basking in your glow. It never lasts though, when the storm clouds roll in - Christopher can be colder than ice and yet somehow always manages to make it feel like you’re the one who did something wrong, make it feel like his sour mood is your fault. Not everyone sees this side to him, few people do in fact, only those who get close - and he rarely lets anyone close for fear they’ll leave him as everyone else has before. Despite recognising this pattern, Christopher hasn’t quite worked out that it might be him that’s the problem.
HISTORY
Education: Masters degree in art history Years in Sweetwater: Just arrived, 0. Family Members: He hasn’t seen his dad in 20 years, his mother is still alive and living in England, he has an older brother he only really sees on family holidays. There are cousins, but he’s far from close to any of them
General History:I’ll flesh this out later, but here’s his brief history… Christopher was born into privilege, no expense was spared on his upbringing or his education - to him it was normal, all of the other children he knew growing up came from similar circumstances: sprawling estates, long summers spent on the Italian Riviera, opulent parties for even the smallest of occasions. To Christopher, this was all normal. It was normal to hardly see his parents, and being at boarding school - Christopher didn't notice at first that there were fewer and fewer of his father's things at home. At first it was just a long weekend, only his father returned without his suitcase. Then one summer Christopher came home to find his father away 'on business' for the summer. The next, he came home and the library was half empty.
Turns out, his father had been having an affair, his mother had found out and now the two of them were embroiled in a very long and very messy divorce.
It took five years to finalise. Christopher's mother got to keep the house, the kids, and the art collection. His father got the cars, the apartment in New York, and stuck with child support payments that would bankrupt most men.
He didn't think the divorce affected him all that much, that was until he started dating. Suddenly his confidence left him, he would feel like he wasn't good enough and that it was only a matter of time before his partners would realise that and leave him. His mother was a wonderful woman, and she'd still been betrayed. What was to stop it happening to him too?
In relationships, he would hold on too tightly - shower his girlfriends with gifts and compliments, grand romantic gestures and trips away. As time would go on he would begin to grow suspicious, insist they didn't go out without him, check their phones when they were in the bathroom, even go so far as encourage them to quit their jobs so they could come with him on business trips.
Usually they would leave him before this point, but Valkyrie was different - he felt like she saw past his faults, she was the one. Which meant that he had to be sure she would never leave him...
