General personality: Madison is a mother before anything else. She loves Cora more than anything. Although she has a sweet girl next door type of personality, she is a total momma bear. She can be absent minded and sometimes clumsy. She falls in love way too easy, but can never be sure if the guy actually likes her, or if she is just putting out siren vibes. She will use her Siren song on occasion but she tries to live the way her grandmother would want her to.

General History: Peter and Celest Matthews met in Sweetwater as had their parents before them. The Matthews family came from money, some kind of oil venture somewhere down the line, and Celest wanted to get her hands on it. It's not that she didn't eventually fall in love with Peter, because she did, she just fell in love with his money first. The two where a power couple, they added on to his already impressive inheritance with ease. Peter was an influential politician and Celest, a high powered lawyer, used her siren song to get him the deals that he needed. Peter knew his wife was a Siren, but he loved her and he loved watching her use her gifts. He was more amazed than anything.
When Madison came along things didn't change much for the two of them. Celest's mother moved into the family estate to take care of their child. Madison's parents loved her and gave her whatever she asked for, but they were quite often absent for the things that mattered. Her grandmother taught her what it meant to be a siren and how to use her gifts for good, instead of profit.
Madison always had dreams to leave Sweetwater but after high school, she just couldn't bring herself to leave her grandmother. She instead opted to go to beauty school and get a job at the local beauty salon. When her grandmother got sick, Madison took a leave from her job to take care of her. Her whole life became taking care of the woman that raised her. Sure she could have hired someone, they had more than enough money for that. However she felt it was her responsibility. The woman didn't have to step in and show her unconditional love, but she did. Madison could never turn her back on her. Once her grandmother passed away, Madison hit a very dark point, using her gifts for not so noble things. She eventually pulled herself out of the darkness and returned to work. Pregnant. She has never told anyone who Cora's father is. She just avoids the subject or flat out ignores the questions.
Since having Cora, Madison's parents have decided to be more involved in her life. They want to be the perfect grandparents for the little girl. Madison is suspicious of the new behavior but they treat her daughter like a princess. They wanted Madison and Cora to live on the estate with them, but she choose a nice house in West Haven to raise her daughter.
