She's warm and welcoming and people know she's reliable and always makes her customers feel like a million bucks. She takes good care of her body, refusing to smoke or drinking more than a glass of wine on special occasions, and keeping up her fitness routines from high school. She is a doting aunt and dreams one day of the perfect husband, beautiful kids, and a white picket fence. She is also very driven, she knows what she wants and she's willing to work hard in order to get there. She can certainly be a bit feisty on occasion but she loves to have a good time and she absolutely adores Sweetwater. [/ul] HISTORY Years in Sweetwater: Entire life (30) Family Members: See Bartlett family in Founding Families. Aunt to @brodie 's kids. General History: Kate is the fifth of eight children in her family. She grew around all things food. Growing it, preparing it, serving it to people, and everything in between. While, yes, it may have been pushed on her a bit in her childhood, she soon grew to genuinely love cooking. In her free time she would often be found in the kitchen trying a new recipe or perfecting an old one. While in high school she did dance as well as cheerleading and eventually became the head cheerleader in her senior year. She wasn't the stuck up popular girl, but she had a lot of friends and people have always enjoyed being around her. She loved her family and was definitely the 'fun aunt'. She adored her nieces and nephews. It was while she was in high school that she started to work at Rosie's Diner as a server and eventually helped out in the kitchen as well. She had been working on her college degree when her oldest sister, Trinity, died of breast cancer. The loss was overwhelming to the family and was a devastating blow. Kate had never been particularly close to her sister since they were about 20 years apart but she had always looked up to her and wanted to be like her. Kate jumped at the chance to help out any way that she could and soon moved in with her brother-in-law and his kids in order to help. Kate could never replace their mother but she was the epitome of a doting aunt at a time when they needed it most. She lived with them for 5 years and in that time she eventually entered into a relationship with Brodie. She was head over heels for him but as time dragged on she wondered if he'd ever propose. When Kate was 25, her younger sister had already been married and announced that they were expected a baby. It was then that Kate realized she couldn't wait around for Brodie, if he was never going to propose then she had to move on with her life. No matter how much she loved him, she wanted a marriage and a family of her own. It was also around that time that the owner of Rosie's Diner was preparing to step down, having been a wonderful employee who was dedicated to the Diner, they offered Kate the chance to become the new owner. She didn't hesitate for a moment. She bought the Diner...with some help from Mommy and Daddy of course, and has been the owner ever since. Since becoming owner the Diner has seen even more of an increase in profit and popularity as people just can't get enough of Kate's cooking. It has been 5 years since leaving Brodie and while Kate has been on plenty of dates since then, it has never progressed any further than relationships lasting a few months at most.
