General personality: There is the girl people think Jada is and the girl she really is.

Most people tend to assume Jada is full of herself and judgmental. She always looks stupidly good regardless of the situation, and she doesn't try to hide how she inspects the style and fashion choices of the people around her. She can often be found checking her nails or texting on her phone, which gives her the appearance of being self-absorbed and uncaring. While it is true she is vain and puts more time into her self-care routines than anything else, much of this has to do with her lack of confidence and drive to be accepted--not only by others, but by herself.

The part of Jada that only those close to her know is is that she is a very competent girl. She can accomplish most anything that she sets her mind to, and she tends to have a plucky, can-do attitude. The one thing that gets in the way of her being confident in herself is her emotions. She isn't quick to anger, but is instead quick to sorrow and fear. Her natural inclination is to find the problem within instead of looking for it outside of herself. She is quick to take the blame, tends to apologize profusely, and can be very puppy-doggish towards those who she especially wants to please.

General History: Jada's father is a corporate millionaire. His tale is the classic rising up story of a boy from the ghetto of Detroit who, through hard work and perseverance, changed his stars. He became an insurance salesman just as the market began to grow, and because of his charisma and good looks he took off. Vincent, with Simone, his childhood friend, on his arm, entered new worlds and never looked back. He never gave back to what he came from, and cut himself off from his roots.

Vincent went from wealthy to millionaire after purchasing a company that provided every kind of insurance available to man. What was more, he managed to make a deal with the government that set his company as one of the default providers, setting himself up financially for many, many lifetimes over.

Simone and Vincent had their three children, all girls. When the girls were young they played working daddy and stay at home mama, but it didn't last. Vincent loved his career and secretaries more than his wife and kids, and Simone loved the life of luxury and the men she could buy more than her daughters. When Jada was six she and her sisters were sent off to boarding school. It was an extremely nice boarding school, but it was school away from their parents. This was the first experience that did a lot of shaping of who she would become.

Boarding school was largely a good experience for the girls. They had one another's backs throughout their time there. They stuck together through the girl drama, boy drama, bad grades, bad decisions, and pubescent episodes. In a way, Chaylah raised her sisters, doing the best a young girl can do. She ingrained in them the importance of looking good (magazines helped with that) and the importance of being noticed by men (media's doing).

The next biggest influential occurrence for Jada happened when she was a senior in school. Her sisters had graduated and moved on to college--in fact, Chaylah had married--and Jada was alone. One of the fathers of another student at the school took notice of her exceptional beauty and reached out to her about modeling opportunities with him as her agent. As a passionless seventeen-year-old, Jada was eager to find something she was good at other than sports. She used what little freedom they were allowed at their school and took him up on his offer.

Entering the modeling life was a whirlwind for Jada. She enjoyed the adulation she got for simply being her beautiful self. Of course, as she got more gigs, more was expected of her. Losing weight here, toning up here, etc. She was a plus sized model simply due to her bountiful breasts and hips, and her agent took notice of it. He started to date her. He took all of her firsts, seconds, and thirds, and then groomed her to be willing to do the same with his friends. He used her career as a threat.

When Jada turned eighteen he started using her beauty for a new industry: porn. It was never what Jada truly wanted or aspired to do, but she became addicted to the praise and attention. She remained in a relationship with her agent until she graduated from high school. When she moved home for the summer she confessed to her sisters about what she had been involved in, and they told their mother. Simone, instead of hunting the agent down, pinned all the blame on Jada and began to refer to her as "her little whore daughter". It tore Jada apart.

With a family she felt despised her, Jada applied to fashion school in California--far away from everything she knew. She was accepted, and eagerly moved away, thankful for the opportunity to start over. During her first year at school she started modeling for Forever21. It was a stepping stone to bigger, better things.

The summer after her junior year, Jada met the love of her life: Elijah Vanderson . He was older , accomplished, handsome, and untouchable to most women. What they had, at least in the beginning, was electric. Jada, like Elijah, was a girl that men only dreamed of being with. Though she'd get nearly naked in front of a camera, she had been celibate since her experience with her agent, and wasn't eager to change that any time soon. The summer with Elijah, however, was one of unbridled passion.

When Elijah broke the news to Jada that he was moving away she was devastated. She was about to sign a contract that would change her modeling career forever; she'd be the next Naomi Campbell! To him, it had likely only been a really good summer; to her, he was all she wanted. She chose him. She walked away from her bright future and transferred from her school to the Sweetwater community college to finish her degree. She suffered the ridicule of her parents, and was actually verbally disowned by her mother.

Jada's time with Elijah was bliss. He wasn't always happy with her, and she couldn't always please him the way he wanted to be pleased, but she never stopped trying and was always so thankful to be with a man who made her feel like gold. After she graduated from college he purchased a store for her and helped her get her boutique off the ground. Though she is the owner by name, he is the owner by paper. A year later, Elijah broke up with Jada. She cried and begged and publicly humiliated herself, but he didn't change his mind. They were done...except for the times when he felt lonely. She lived for those moments in the beginning.

Three years. Jada has been in Sweetwater for three years. She was with Elijah for the first two, and has been alone for the last one. She works diligently at her boutique because it helps her fill her time. She doesn't know what to do with herself, but she can't go crawling back to her mother...
