03.2023 | WELCOME BACK! Hello friends old and new! I'm so excited to welcome you all back to SITW! I've made some changes to the plot and added the ability to play supernatural charcaters! So come and check it out! I can't wait to jump back into this little town with all of you!
A strange history surrounds the town, it is a place where mysterious and supernatural things have been known to happen. The reputation of the town reguarly draws in visitors and newcomers alike. While some residents avidly believe in the supernatural, others are far more skeptical. What do you believe?
Callie wasn’t used to the Bartlett’s family home being so empty. Only she and Kota were currently home, as her parents had to go out of town for something involving the twins. Whatever the case; their daughters were left to the house, unsupervised. Being that Callie put on such a good show of being the ‘well adjusted’ reformed party girl for them, they didn’t seem at all worried. Nor should they be, since Callie sadly wouldn’t be throwing a party. Though she wasn’t against inviting friends over.
Particularly one who’s friendship was kept on the down low from, well; everyone. Not even Kota knew that Callie and West were friends… in fact, Callie just might share more with West than she did with Kota. With her sister off with her little girlfriend -they were adorable-, Callie was alone and bored. So she sent a Snapchat to West. And agreed to do some of his homework in exchange for a ride on his bike. Another thing she’d never be able to do with her parents around. The two had agreed to hang out at her house, so he could get away from his for a while. Plus, she’d get to show him her growing project in her closet.
This would likely be something she wouldn’t take with her right away whenever she and Alexis got their place together. Shit, she hadn’t had the chance to share that bit of information with West yet. Surprisingly, Callie and Alexis got along great and were moving in together. But if anything, it would be another place he could visit to escape home if he needed.
Callie finally decided she should at least not be in pajamas when he got there, so she opted for a pair of form flattering black yoga pants and surprisingly for her; an oversized sweater. It was soft, a greyish blue color, and very comfortable. It hung off her left shoulder slightly because it was big, but she was warm. Callie’s dirty blonde hair was in a messy bun with playful wisps hanging loosely around her ears, and she only had a bit of mascara on for makeup. She pulled on a pair of thick, grey wool socks and headed downstairs. This is probably the most ‘casually dressed’ West would have ever seen her.

West has visited the Bartlett house a few times years ago. He'd been to someone's eight grade 'graduation' party here. Or maybe a baptism. Or both. Some of it felt like forever ago. While their families had both been in Sweetwater forever, he wouldn't consider any of them 'family friends,' though he and Callie were close to that.
He pulled his bike into the long drive to the house. It wasn't as massive as his family home, but it was still more than a midsized suburban house. He killed the engine and kicked down the stand, stepping off the bike and running a hand through windswept blond hair. It was likely an improvement over what it had been. He wore a black and maroon leather jacket with the collar turned up over a dark grey hoodie with a white tee underneath, paired with tight dark jeans and black boots. He carried a small laptop bag. West didn't bother letting Callie know he was here, considering she'd probably heard the bike. He stepped up to the front door and held down the doorbell far longer than necessary. He could hear it ring through the house and grinned in amusement.

Callie might have also shamelessly given herself a spritz of her favorite perfume before she had headed downstairs. She had originally intended to have the twin hunting dogs outside in their kennel before West arrived, but as the dogs barked and behaved excitedly at the sound of the approaching motorcycle, Callie knew there would be no encouraging them outside now. Not as they rushed the door at the sound of the bell. She threw her hands up in defeat.
“Fine, you two can stay inside.” She said with an exasperated sigh, nudging Otis and Othello away from the door as she pulled it open. She had one dog’s collar in her free hand and the second dog held between her legs, and embarrassed looking smile on her face as she laughed.
“Hey, sorry I meant to have them put up before you got here… but they only listen to Kota.” Callie shook her head, Otis pulling against her arm and whining softly as he tried to inch closer to West for attention. “Come on in.”
West heard the dogs even before he rang the bell, but that didn't stop him. He had never had a dog himself and honestly wasn't sure where he stood on the topic of pets. His fish tank didn't really count. Neither did the time he bought three ducklings and they lived in his room for a week before anyone besides his siblings noticed.
"Hey, Cerberus," he greeted. He grinned at Callie's efforts just to open the door, though he was quick to let himself inside so she didn't have to gold the dogs for long. He shrugged. He didn't mind the dogs, holding out his hands for both of them to sniff and to show he was chill. "Whole house to yourself and no house party?" He teased. Not that he expected one nor was in the mood.

His move to enter the house quickly was greatly appreciated, as Kota’s dog could definitely drag her if they tried. Thankfully, they were just oversized puppies. With the door closed, she released her hold on both Otis and Othello. “What part of my ‘reformed party girl’ act for my parents gives you the idea I would host a party? I’d be stuck with all the cleaning, not all of us have maids.” She teased with her charming grin, shaking her head and watching as the two hunting dogs give him some curious sniffs before deciding they didn’t mind him being there. “Besides, I’d have to make sure no one snuck into my room and found my growing project.”
Callie was pleased to see him, and then raised a brow at the laptop. “You can set up your laptop either in the living room, or in my room at the desk.” She offered, pointing toward the large spacious living room and then nodding toward the staircase. “But the growing project is upstairs, so whatever you’d like to do first.” Callie’s messy bun bobbing slightly as she sauntered toward the kitchen for a bottle of water.
“Do you want something to drink?” She called out, not sure if he’d follow her this way or not. Otis followed after her, whining for a treat, so she obliged. Setting one out for Othello as well.

West was immediately set upon by the two dogs. As loud as they had been, they both calmed once they weren't being held back and sniffed his clothes and hands. He was glad neither of them jumped on him or seemed to want his attention because he didn't want to give it back. He laughed at Callie. "Oh, it's an act now? When did that happen?" He teased. "Bet." He said about the cleaning. He wasn't a fan either and honestly didn't think much about how often his room and the others of their family home were spotless.
"Ya know they make these things called 'locks'? You should try it sometime. They take a 'key' or a 'code.'" He looked over at the living room at her suggestion and then smirked as she invited him to her room. "I like a good desk," he said the innuendo with a grin. As if he'd ever done anything on a desk.
He followed her toward the kitchen, rubbing his sleeve under his nose to scratch an itch. "Nah," he said, leaning on the counter. The house was vaguely as he remembered it. A bit more modern. Still large, but almost cozy in a way, at least from his understanding.

Watching the dogs inspect him for a moment, Callie was relieved that neither seemed intent on jumping on him. At least they seemed to be mostly behaving. “Hey, I used to be much more open with my party girl ways a few years ago.” She teased with a shake of her head. If anyone knew about her ‘situation’, it was West. At least, to some degree. She might not have fully opened up about the improper age gap relationship that supplied her with the alcohol that nearly killed her. But he knew she had issues with alcohol, nearly died and just kept her partying substance free. And quiet, since she didn’t need her dad threatening to ‘send her to live on the reservation with her grandparents’. Not that he could make threats like that anymore anyway, she wasn’t a child.
“Please, when have locked doors ever stopped anyone from getting into a room if they wanted?” She teased with a shake of her head. Just look at their ‘usual’ spot; the Lament House. It had not only been locked, but boarded up. And they still found a way in. Sometimes those teens got unruly at parties when looking for some privacy. She didn’t need her bedroom door getting broken in. “Besides, I like being able to maintain the illusion of everything being ‘just right’ for my parents.” At least until she moved out.
There was a playfulness to the way he talked about liking a ‘good desk’ that brought heat to her cheeks and she nearly dropped her bottle of water.
Just earlier this week she’d been under Principal Hollifield’s desk in his office, during school hours… giving him head. Not only that, but he’d bent her over the desk afterwards and gone down on her. Recalling the sight of his face between her legs when she glanced over her shoulder sent a rush of goosebumps down her spine as she awkwardly cleared her throat, taking a drink as she tried to calm the blush. She might have let it slip to West she had every intention of seducing her principal, but telling him this felt… wrong. Because she didn’t want West hearing about her exploits with another guy.
Not to mention, she didn’t need anything being found out. Though she knew he wouldn’t breathe a word about it to anyone… saying it out loud felt too risky. So instead, she gave a slight shrug with a playful wink. “Oooh, for sure. Especially if they’re good a sturdy.” Callie took another sip of her bottled water before stepping past and grabbing his arm.
“Come on, my room’s this way… I basically turned my walk-in closet to be a little ‘greenhouse’.” She told him with a chuckle, pulling him in tow behind her as she headed for the stairs and then let his hand to as she ascended the stairs. After her grow tent seemed to be too confining, Callie spent some time converting her closet into quite the little set up for her plants, which also meant she had room for more. Her mother was aware of the project, having wondered why Callie was ‘renovating’ her closet, and she simply told her not to let her father find out.

West grinned. So maybe a lock wasn't the end all be all, but he found it amusing that she hadn't even tried. The fact that there was no lock meant her parents never bothered trying the door, so they would hardly notice a lock. but he had been joking about the party. Even when she had been in to partying and before the greenhouse project, hosting here had never happened. It was more like Price was doing something somewhere anyway when it came to one of the founding families. trust his brother to know how to have a good time.
Her blush didn't go unnoticed, but he figured it was just the joke. Sure, he knew about the thing with the principal but he didn't really care. Or so he told himself. At least Callie had something interesting going on in her life. His own was pretty lame. "Bet," he said with a grin. It all sounded right, at least. though the notion made him think about the desk he used at work. He wasn't sure that was very sturdy. Certainly not somewhere he would want to get more involved with Halah, though he had thought what it might be like to see her again.
The young man followed Callie through the kitchen and up the stairs, mostly by choice though he was amused with the way she grabbed his hand like they were children.

Oddly enough, Callie couldn’t remember the last time she’d actually had a guy physically in her room, probably not since all the drama and craziness four years ago. Not because she was such a ‘good girl’ but mostly because her family was almost always home. And soon enough, she’d have her place with Alexis, and maybe she could Start to have fun in her own bed again.
Well, fun that involved another person there physically. Callie still played solo, and even occasionally on Snapchat. The possible phone mount ‘arm’ was still attached to her bed and hadn’t been moved yet. She wasn’t worried, it was West. He couldn’t think whatever he liked, he knew if he asked, she’d tell. She didn’t keep secrets from him.
Except one. But with Price being away, she didn’t think it was worth talking about. She just hoped Price hadn’t told him.
“So, we should be in their daylight hours right now, and you should be able to see my favorite little hobby.” Callie admitted, finally releasing West’s hand once they were in her room. “And feel free to set the laptop there, I’ll get started on your classwork shortly.” She teased with a winning smile and playful wink.
If Callie were the type to say she had a ‘best friend’ she might have called West her best friend. He was the only person who was one-hundred percent upfront with… minus that one little secret.

Admittedly, he'd gotten close to Callie because she was his dealer. They had hung out before that, at a few parties when Alexis convinced him, but it was after that that they got close. He'd come for the drugs but stayed for the good vibes and her smile and how absolutely unhinged she could be when no one was looking. He perfectly understood why her parents never left her alone.
Her hand around his was distracting in a lot of ways. Of course he'd thought about her, how could he not, the way she filled out a pair of jeans and that perfect mouth. Not that he had any practical experience, but he knew from her escapades how good she was. The phone mount made him wonder if she was having more than just a little fun on her phone. He tossed her a grin but didn't say anything.
West set down his laptop on her desk. "I don't want you to do it, exactly, just...help me out." He wasn't above cheating. The way he saw it, his parents had made him start college out of some weird obligation, so he would tackle it however he wanted. Though he wasn't stupid. "I'm not stupid, I read the material, I just don't see why I have to put some dead guy's words into my own and apply it to a modern situation," he grumbled in a frustrated rush. "I'd much rather just talk about it that put shit on paper. There was no social contract agreed upon at the start of this class," he pointed out.
He folded his arms and frowned, but followed her to her closet. He didn't want to think about papers right now. "Show me the factory already," he teased.
