03.2023 | WELCOME BACK! Hello friends old and new! I'm so excited to welcome you all back to SITW! I've made some changes to the plot and added the ability to play supernatural charcaters! So come and check it out! I can't wait to jump back into this little town with all of you!
A strange history surrounds the town, it is a place where mysterious and supernatural things have been known to happen. The reputation of the town reguarly draws in visitors and newcomers alike. While some residents avidly believe in the supernatural, others are far more skeptical. What do you believe?

Valkyrie gave Darcy a soft smile as the woman introduced herself. "Nice to meet you, Darcy. I'm Valkyrie, the head nurse here," she explained though the woman hadn't answered any of her questions. She also was soon leaving and the nurse cast a little wave in her direction as she turned her attention back to Ferris. He didn't look any less attractive after what was clearly an ordeal, but she tried not to think about that right now.
He too didn't actually answer her questions and it was starting to give her ideas. No one knew what she was but she was well aware that there was a large supernatural population in town, she'd seen signs ever since her arrival though it was harder for her to pick out other supernaturals than it was for others who had supernatural ways, like enhanced scent, to detect the clues. Still, she'd met enough sirens, vampires, and werewolves to pick up their behaviors and traits after not too long. She didn't know Darcy was a wolf, having just barely met her, but she knew of plenty who were.
It was this knowledge that made her question what wasn't being said by either of them, clearly secrets being kept because why else would the be being so vague? She looked thoughtfully at Ferris. She didn't think he was supernatural himself but maybe she was wrong. "Can you at least tell me what kind of animal caused the bite? The treatments will be far more effective if we know the source," she asked. If he skirted the subject again or was vague about it then she was sure there was something to hide. The question was how much she'd be willing to reveal about herself to get the information.

Ferris sensed Valkyrie's apprehension with his lack of information. She was just trying to do her job, after all, to help her nurses and the doctors do their job. Of course she needed to know what happened. He knew that. Any information he could give her would help. Plus he already felt guilty for having to pick between Mikey and Elijah's son.
He rubbed the back of his neck, leaving his right hand there for a moment just looking at her, searching those bright inquisitive grey eyes. As much as he loved her eyes on him, he didn't like seeing her so concerned, not when he could help.
He grimaced as she asked about the animal. Of course. That was the problem. He sighed and dropped his hand to his pocket again, looking off over the parking lot toward the part of the woods they had come from. "I'm gonna sound crazy," he prefaced. He looked back at her, searching her eyes once more. "It was a...fiery dog thing." He'd never heard of a 'hellhound' and mostly assumed no one else would have. "Really big canine, but it...breathed fire." Okay, now he knew he sounded crazy. If only Mikey's camera hadn't been dragged to hell and back (no pun intended) maybe they'd have proof. But he almost didn't want to start a panic.
"Look, it sounds stupid, but I know what I saw, just...not sure how to explain it." He'd been in a lot of stressful, emergency situations. He knew how to lay down the facts of what he had seen. Could recount things objectively to get a clear order of events. This had him rattled but not so much as to interrupt that ability. Still, he was glad his hands were in his pockets because he worried they might start shaking and he didn't need that right now.

It wasn't hard to tell that Ferris was quite uncomfortable with the conversation which only further showed Valkyrie that this might be something out of the ordinary for a typical human. However, when he explained what what the canine was like, as crazy as it would sound to others, she didn't react the way he might have assumed. She knew immediately what it was. She'd come across several over her various lifetimes though more often she only heard the myths and rumors of them without seeing them with her own two eyes. She supposed this was just another of those times. Being close by a hellhound without actually seeing it for herself. There was only once she'd actually seen on and it wasn't a memory she'd soon forget.
She could have tried to make a joke about maybe he'd hit his head while he was out there but she didn't. Instead she just looked up him, reading the uncertainty all over his face and offered him a warm and comforting smile. She placed her hand tenderly on his upper arm without breaking eye contact with him. "Thank you for telling me, Ferris," she said, as if he'd just told her that it was simple a dog with rabies. "I should go help out in there. Are you sure you're all right though? Any breaks, cuts, or burns?" she asked, her thumb lightly stroking across his bicep, not being willing to leave him if she thought he might be hiding that he could use some help too.

Valkyrie's hand on his arm and that softness in her grey eyes and her warm smile were all reactions purposefully designed to reassure him. He glanced down at her hand on his arm, momentarily distracted. They hadn't touched before, had they? No. But he needed more of that warmth. And then his eyes snapped back up to hers as she spoke.
The Fire Chief stood there stupidly for a moment, mouth half open, a defense of his sanity already loaded and ready to go, even with her gentle lead in of thanks. But that was it. No joking or serious concern ever came. Like she heard things like this all the time. How many unhinged patients did she deal with on a weekly or even daily basis? Enough to know that telling him he was crazy would only make him more panicked. Which was why, when she barely said a word about it, he determined she didn't believe him.
Especially as she said she had to get back. Away from the crazy Fire Chief blabbering about fiery dogs outside. He felt so stupid. Even her hand on his arm was nearly forgotten, though it was enough that as he pulled his hands out of his pockets at her question, he felt her touch. He tried not to think about it as he turned his hands over for her to see. "Some minor burns but I'll be fine. I...uh...should call the sheriff..." he mumbled, giving her more than enough of an out so she could get back to her job. "I'll see you later, Valkyrie."
