"Stop making it weird," the Fire Chief advised. He was relaxed. Well, relatively. Maybe Cisco was right and around him, Ferris was a bit more...tense. But that was normal, as far as he was concerned. Especially since the man always seemed to need to make things sexual just to tease him. He knew he could leave. But he had offered to make sure the guy had a safe productive workout. So here he was, trying to be nice and just opening himself to more harassment.
"This something you desperately need to happen tonight or can it wait until next week?" He meant the drinks, not the biting. At least drinking could help him relax, he'd give Cisco that. It wasn't as if he was set on disliking him, they simply clashed too much.

“Fine, I digress.” He chuckled, holding his hands up as he moved the bench to prepare to do some deadlifts. Easing the barbell to the floor and looking to Ferris with a shrug. He wasn’t technically looking for an immediate cash in. “Oh, no rush Chief Daddy. We can make plans for a week or so out.” He teased with a grin as he set himself up for the first rep.
Yes, Cisco was very aware of how much of an ass he could be when he continually teased and played, but it was more fun than filtering himself. And it’s not like most everyone he knew didn’t already expect it from him to a certain degree. He took a break between reps, getting his water and taking a drink.

Ferris had to hand it to Cisco, at least the guy made him feel something. Discomfort and anxiety and frustration, but those emotions were better than simply ghosting through the fire station and going through motions. Technically. "Okay."
The hair on the back of his neck stood up at the nickname and he groaned softly. Ferris folded his arms as Cisco moved to a new position to work on a different set of muscles. Maybe he should just let the man have an accident. Or punch him in the face. Actually, scratch the face, Ferris didn't want to break any fingers. He could punch him in the stomach though. The thought was at least relaxing. No wonder Elijah said he enjoyed fighting as a release.
He wasn't so keen on conversation after that unless Cisco decided to poke the bear.

Cisco didn’t push for further conversation, at least not in the beginning. He knew he had a way of pushing buttons, and it was only through sheer luck that Ferris didn’t kick his ass every other day. He really should behave a bit more professionally at his volunteer work. Sometimes he just felt they were all too serious and he needed to be the one cracking jokes. Especially the ones at his one expense.
Miraculously, Cisco remained silent until he finished up his reps and began to put away the weights he used. He brow a little more covered in beads of sweat as he took a seat, drinking the rest of his bottle of water before looking to Ferris with a raised brow. “Oh, we’re having some scheduling conflicts with my photographer Tate, so the Calendar might work out better as a spring project.” He offered with a shrug, hoping that wasn’t too much of a setback.

His imagination of punching the man had fallen rather short, considering that starting a fight would cause effort. Not to mention he didn't really dislike him so much as to hit him. He was child-ish, not an actual child. Though sometimes that was exactly what he thought Cisco was.
Ferris grunted in acknowledgement of the words, more recognizing that he said something than really paying attention to his words. That took another moment as he forced himself to function normally. "Always next year," he said. He'd let this man and that young woman bully him for nothing. But he supposed it was hard to have a hot and steamy fire fighter calendar when it was too cold to remove any clothing. As for the funding, it wasn't as if he had counted on anything just yet.

Cisco gave a nod, knowing that would likely work out a little better, though he did have another idea for fundraising. “I did have another idea that would be great for raising some money for the fire station.” His tone alone suggested he knew Ferris wasn’t going to like it, but he’d just run it by him solo instead of in listing the aid of the lovely Calliope again. Though it was tempting, she was rather good at handling those situations.
“You’re going to hate to, but I think it could be really entertaining.” He teased with a grin. Moving to grab a towel to wipe away his sweat as he looked back to Ferris. “We should have a firefighter auction.”

He wasn't sure he wanted to hear another idea of Cisco's for fundraising, but he was the man's boss and Ferris believed that a good boss listened to his employees.
He also believed a good boss told his employees to their face when he thought their ideas were terrible. "That sounds great," he said with a sigh, massaging his temples and the bridge of his nose. Because it wasn't terrible. It was...fine. He didn't have it in him to fight the man even verbally right now. He only half understood what the man meant by that, but really, if it gave Cisco something to do maybe it would distract him enough and he would leave Ferris alone for a while. "What sort of auctions are we talking about?"

“Okay, so don’t hate me…”He paused as she took a seat with a ridiculous grin as he looked back to Ferris. ”But the sort of auction where we let people buy a day with a firefighter.” Clearly he was a fan of this idea, especially since it reminded him of the times back when high schools would auction off the football team.
“We’d of course have to run it by everyone and whoever didn’t want to be apart, could opt out. But I think it would be a hilarious way to boost town opinion and get some extra money for the station.” okay, so it was completely ridiculous and definitely a bit of a stretch, but he was just trying to offer some out of the box thinking. Plus, he was dying to watch the bid war that would take place over some of their fire fighters.

The Fire Chief sighed and contained the low hanging fruit joke of 'I already hate you,' as Cisco began some long wind up. "Ah. You mean like buying a date with one of us." He'd seen that in high schools and some other places of questionable morales. But it seemed very in tune with the calendar theme the editor really wanted to push for. "Long as I don't have to take my clothes off," he said. It was supposed to be a joke. But also serious.
He shrugged. "We don't need that much fundraising," he said. "But we could use either this or the calendar to raise money for something else. The Urgent Care or Special Olympics, or some other charity or something," he allowed. They were a decently funded small town fire station. Sure, there were things the other larger stations he had worked at had that theirs didn't, but he would settle for fixing the heat and maybe some new showers.

“I mean, pitching it as buying a date with one would probably guarantee full support for the ladies in town.” He teased with a grin, but then nodded. “Oh, of course. If you undressed what would be the point of anyone else even being auctioned off?” And there was the ever persistent and annoying cheeky Cisco.
He gave a nod, knowing that as a small station it seemed to make sense that they were pretty well funded. But even he knew there were a few things they could do with putting a little additional funding into. But also, he wasn’t being told ‘no’, just to use it as a way to get donations for a charity. “Oh, absolutely. It there’s one thing this town loves more than their firefighters; it’s their firefighters giving to a charity.”

Were he in a better mood, he would have certainly shot the idea down. But whatever kept the man from- And then Cisco mentioned him getting naked would ruin the point. While technically an Alpha male compliment, it was also very...uncomfortable. Especially based on who gave him said compliment. Ferris sighed.
"Sounds great, Cisco. I'm going to check some gear or something," he said, having had more than enough of the man even before the patronizing comment about donating money. He moved toward the door to leave the gym, pausing in the doorway. "If I see your face in the next two-" he glanced down at his watch and realized it wasn't as late as he thought it was. "-four hours, I'm going to punch it."
