03.2023 | WELCOME BACK! Hello friends old and new! I'm so excited to welcome you all back to SITW! I've made some changes to the plot and added the ability to play supernatural charcaters! So come and check it out! I can't wait to jump back into this little town with all of you!
A strange history surrounds the town, it is a place where mysterious and supernatural things have been known to happen. The reputation of the town reguarly draws in visitors and newcomers alike. While some residents avidly believe in the supernatural, others are far more skeptical. What do you believe?

On the opposite end of the spectrum, the mental imagine Cisco painted with his words was a lot more vulgar and not something Ferris wanted to think about. "I think you just made me give up dipping anything in chocolate ever again," he groaned. Especially because the more he thought about it, the more 'warm melted chocolate' sounded like a euphemism. He shook his head, displeased with all aspects of that mental image, especially as it involved the man next to him. It was an unwelcome thought, namely because part of him found it intriguing, make the rest of him hate himself even more for even considering as much.
Unlike Cisco, Ferris was not at all comfortable with his own sexuality. Nor was it something he wanted to work through or sort out. It was easier to pretend otherwise. At least most of the time. He liked hanging out with Cisco but the man tended toward less comfortable conversation topics for the fire chief.
All he wanted was to sit at the counter and eat dinner and hope nothing else got out of hand. He wanted to talk less here than they had in the showers. "Don't think we have sourdough," he noted. There were some bagels on the counter, and probably some other sandwich bread around since PB & J or deli slices were an easy solo meal.

Cisco couldn’t contain his laughter and nearly choked on the bite in his mouth as he covered his mouth to stop anything from escaping. He didn’t mean to ruin the idea of melted chocolate for the other man, but he also couldn’t help but find it hilarious. “hey, you shouldn’t rule out adding food play in the bedroom. It can get pretty interesting.” Cisco admitted with a wicked looking grin as he recalled some rather enjoyable time spent with whipped cream and strawberries.
He cleared his throat and continued to enjoy the soup, shaking his head after Ferris mentioned them not having sourdough. “Sadly no, and I haven’t gotten into bread baking yet. But I’ve been told it’s worth it.” Cisco added as he continued eating, now curious to knew how difficult it would be to make some decent bread from scratch. The man wasn’t without hobbies, and was not at all shy about trying new and different things. “I wonder if there are any basic bread classes around town I could try out.”

Ferris rolled his eyes at Cisco's amusement and then made a choking noise of disgust in his throat at the direct suggestion of food play. He cleared his throat and swallowed his food with a faint cough. No, food play was definitely not a kink of his. Even the classic whipped cream and strawberries, or chocolate syrup drizzle had never appealed to him.
Some of the others in the living room looked over at Cisco's outburst and gave them both weird looks. One of those moments where it was the strangest time to overhear a conversation. But seeing Cisco was involved seemed to lessen the surprise and earn a few laughs. Ferris managed to hide exactly how embarrassed he felt at even the slightest implication that Cisco was talking about food in the bedroom in the context of the two of them.
"Baking bread sounds boring," Ferris chimed in rather unhelpfully, still trying his hardest to focus on food and not anything else. No small wonder Cisco spiced up his cooking with a cute little friend. Of all the things he was interested in, cooking and baking were not it. Such things required patience for menial tasks he just didn't have when it came to eating at least. He imagined Darcy probably didn't have the focus to watch bread rise in an oven either. Nor much interest in bread as a staple food. "Sweet Shoppe probably does. I imagine it's all cookies and gingerbread and pie this time of year though," he noted a bit more positively, as anything was better than the previous conversation. Ramping up for holidays often mean more sweets and deserts and things Ferris avoided eating too much of, which was especially hard when he happened to pass by the place walking to or from work and home. They made these massive cinnamon rolls that he found it nearly impossible to say no to.

While it was mostly a joke, it was always interesting to see how people reacted. Cisco didn’t care if people laughed at his expense or thought he was a big goof; he knew just how much fun he was getting to have and how to thoroughly enjoy herself. He smirked at the laughter from the other men and just gave a gentle shrug of his shoulders while he finished up his bowl of soup.
“I mean, it’s not that exciting for sure, but it’s definitely delicious.” He admitted with a chuckle as he set about washing his bowl and spoon, soaping up a dish towel to wash up the dishes as the other firefighters finished up. “Hey, now there’s a thought… think of all the interest I’d attract if I attended a holiday cookie class.” Cisco tapped his chin with a smirk. “Plus, Esmeralda loves baking cookies. She’d be so impressed if I actually took a class.” He smiled softly at the mention of his daughter and thoughts of holiday baking stayed on his mind.

The fire chief decided it best to just ignore him. At least the guy was having a good time from the sound of it. Ferris just really didn't want to hear about it, in detail or even just vague implications.
Of course, it seemed even in talking of baking classes, Cisco couldn't keep from bragging and rubbing it in about just how much everyone else in town wanted to sleep with him. Ferris shook his head and sighed as he finished up his soup. He got up and made a point to wash his own just so he was doing something rather than just sit. "Could bring her with you," he suggested. He wanted to add a jab about how maybe he couldn't help himself from flirting and picking up someone in front of his daughter, but he knew that the man wasn't so vulgar and invasive with his kids around. No point being mean just to be mean. He helped clean up the counter and dry dishes before hunting down a large enough bowl for the leftovers. Which likely would only last through the next day, if that long.
He habitually pulled the trash out and made the rounds for the other bins to empty them and combine them all together. It was a good excuse to collect his cigarettes and lighter from the dormitory and then make his way outside without having to announce to the room he had a problem. Ferris didn't particularly like any of them smoking at the station (though he wasn't sure there was anyone who did besides him), even in the back of the building. But it was more a professional concern. He wasn't about to have someone create more work for them by starting a fire here of all places.
But now he couldn't help himself from leaning against the back brick and lighting up.

After everyone seemed to be done eating, Cisco set back to work finishing the chores. He swapped another load of laundry, and set to work folding and putting away the clean basket before returning again to the kitchen the make a list of any cleaning supplies they were running low on. Namely; laundry detergent and trash bags were getting close to being out. Cisco finished the list and found himself standing in the kitchen again. He decided now would be a decent time to try and get some formal notice made to post at the school about having a photographer internship available.
He began looking for Ferris, because he wanted to check with the chief before he started working on something not pertaining to the fire station. And it didn’t take him long to discover him put back with a cigarette. Cisco didn’t have any specific opinion on Ferris’ smoking habits, to each his own. “Hey, would you mind if I took some time to type up that internship notice? I won’t be printing it here and using supplies from the station, but I have some down time waiting on the laundry and thought I might do that.”

The fire chief spent far longer outside that he intended, caught between enjoying the crisp autumn air, the smoke and the nicotine. He looked up at the sound of the back door opening, expecting that Cisco needed him for something. But since the sirens weren't going off, he gathered it wasn't an emergency, so he didn't put out his cigarette. He did at least have the common courtesy to have put himself down wind of the door so he could breathe out his current lungful away from the man.
Ferris was quiet a moment, running through the daily tasks in his head. Basic chores and gear checks were usually the biggest, but he was pretty sure Cisco had managed his fair share of those. "No pending reports?" He had a few he had to review from other firefighters himself. Though considering Cisco's career in journalism, he didn't struggle so much as some of them (including Ferris) at report writing. He took another pull on his cigarette and then shrugged and breathed out. "Don't see why not. What sort of projects you have coming up?"

“Any reports I had to make have all been turned in, though I did offer to help some of the guys with their reports when they’re ready to start.” The man said with a half smile, even as far back as when he was in school he always submitted reports and such before their deadlines. It’s what gave him a competitive edge as an editor at the paper. That, and Cisco could be rather competitive when it came to his line of work.
“So, I’m trying to get things lined up for a special project, and I fully intend to tell you all about it… but I want to have things lined up better first.” He admitted coyly, a mischievous glint in his eyes as he shrugged his shoulder to the other man. It’s not that her thought Ferris wouldn’t go for the fund raising idea, he just wanted back up to help sell the idea when he pitched it. “But I’m going to get this photographer internship idea typed up so I can send it on to my secretary to get posted at the schools.”

"They gotta write it, that's the point." He knew Cisco usually had things finished the day of any incidents he was on the clock for. But as the boss, it was his job to check in on everyone and remind them. He appreciated that Cisco usually had his paperwork for any incidents he was on the clock for done in a timely manner. It meant Ferris could spread out the fundamentally boring task of reading about the same events over and over.
Cisco's tone with the phrase 'special project' and the dangerous light in his eyes promised to be something the fire chief would not like. But he had to admit, it was pretty funny how coy the man was being with him. Why would Cisco tell him about a project for the paper? Ferris snorted, which turned into a cough that he had to straighten up and cover his mouth for. "Jesus," he wheezed, catching his breath. "Why d'you say it like that? Setting yourself up for a letdown," he finally managed to point out.
He finished his smoke break and dropped the cigarette in the outdoor receptacle, checking his watch for the time. "I'll be in my office if you need anything else."

He chuckled, holding his hands up defensively for a moment. “Hey, they’re writing the reports themselves, they just like to use me as a verbal spellcheck.” Cisco admitted, not wanting Ferris to get the wrong idea or think anyone was shirking their duties.
“Oh, at the paper? I mean there’s always something going on. But I meant a project I have for the fire station.” He gave a wink, and then acted like he twisted a key at his lips with a shake of his head. He just gave a nod as he started to head back inside. “Alright, give a holler if you think of anything else I need to tend to.”
