03.2023 | WELCOME BACK! Hello friends old and new! I'm so excited to welcome you all back to SITW! I've made some changes to the plot and added the ability to play supernatural charcaters! So come and check it out! I can't wait to jump back into this little town with all of you!
A strange history surrounds the town, it is a place where mysterious and supernatural things have been known to happen. The reputation of the town reguarly draws in visitors and newcomers alike. While some residents avidly believe in the supernatural, others are far more skeptical. What do you believe?
Bex, on time as usual, was there before the doors were opened to their guests so she could prepare for the day. The sunlight filtered in through the alehouse windows, catching the dust motes in the air in a way that Bex always liked. Sure, she was more of a creature of the night and typically stayed up until far too late, but that didn't mean that she didn't enjoy the sunshine too. It was the kind of light that brightened up a spirit and made her feel alive and just...happy.
"Heya boss!" she said rather cheerfully on this beautiful day as she walked in. "Ready for another Friday?" she asked. While there was usually a small lunch rush and evenings varied as far as how busy they were, Fridays and Saturdays were by far the busiest days of the week, especially since the college kids all came out for the club scene at night. "What kind of entertainment do you have running for tonight?" Bex was working a double and would be here today from open to close. She was intentionally not thinking about how tired she'd be tomorrow.
Harland had been at work for hours but that's what owners did right? Of course he had pack duty earlier then that and a pack meeting. So again he was grumpy and the smell of a third pot of coffee filled his current space when his newest hire, Bex, came waltzing in spouting howdy do and something about a beautiful day all of which got that Harland signature grunt but it had some uplifting notes to it. Still he sat his coffee cup down and grabbed his handy clipboard, "Tonight our entertainment is Indie Hipster," a very disappointed grunt escaped a second time, "With hits like...Life Bitch and Dance With Her Affection," he looked at Bex, "So do with that what you will, god why can't kids listen to the classics. Whatever," he looked at the clock on the wall, "Doubles today?"
Bex snorted just at the name. Indie Hipster? Really? Well, if that's what brought in the crowds then she supposed it was a good choice. "Let's just pray my ears aren't bleeding by the end of the night," she said. Honestly, some classics sounded awesome. "You could give the classics a shot sometime. Make it a themed night to draw people in, have a couple bands who do covers or something?" she gave a shrug. It wasn't her bar after all and maybe he'd hate the idea.
As he asked about her shift she gave him a wink. "You know me, I love a double." The truth was that she often picked them up. "Or I don't have a life...or both," she shrugged again. "Gotta bring in the big bucks, you know." She had to admit that she did find satisfaction in the competition of picking up tips and comparing her earnings with her co-workers.

Harland actually liked the idea of a classic themed night or any theme? He did decide to scribble that down, "Good idea," he grunted, this one might have had a small smile attached to it but it didn't show on his face, "We'll make that happen soon, if it goes well Bex you'll be running it," Jesus knew he had enough to do already plus who didn't like a promotion...of sorts...
"if you want," he added.
He wanted a beer and for a moment almost grabbed one but decided he'll just drink later maybe, "Yeah you can say it, we got no lives, it's fine," he joked again his face didn't show it, "I never pry into most of my employees lives ya know, because their all mostly local, but what about you Bex? How'd you end up here in Sweetwater?"
He wanted her to run it? Well, she walked right into that one. Still, regardless of the fact it would be more work it did sound like a lot of fun and it's not like she had anything better to do anyway.
"Yeah, sure. I could run it," she agreed with a little shrug of her shoulders.
She was wiping down menus when he asked about her. Her stomach twisted in a knot and she kept her focus on her task. "I got tired of living in one place and Florida sucks. So one day I bought an airstream and started traveling through the country making pit stops along the way for a time. Sweetwater just...stuck I guess. At least so far it has." She put on a smile and a shrug as she glanced at him briefly before going on with her work. She didn't mention that the catalyst for her leaving was the murder of her girlfriend. That was a bit...personal.

Even if Bex was hiding something Harland had been raised not to pry, "Yeah Florida is ass," he joked in his own way and did it without a smile and just the right amount of dry, "But yeah to be honest you're probably stuck here for good now, so good job on the elevation in life," but he did chuckle this time, "want some breakfast before we open open?"
Bex chuckled and shook her head. "Good thing it's been a decent place to be stuck so far, I guess," she said. She enjoyed Harland's more lighthearted and casual style to management. She'd had plenty of uptight bosses in the past but she'd always enjoyed working alongside Harland.
Her stomach growled as if in response to his question and she gave him a wry smile. "Yeah, I guess I could eat," she said flippantly.
