03.2023 | WELCOME BACK! Hello friends old and new! I'm so excited to welcome you all back to SITW! I've made some changes to the plot and added the ability to play supernatural charcaters! So come and check it out! I can't wait to jump back into this little town with all of you!
A strange history surrounds the town, it is a place where mysterious and supernatural things have been known to happen. The reputation of the town reguarly draws in visitors and newcomers alike. While some residents avidly believe in the supernatural, others are far more skeptical. What do you believe?
Milo watched as Ida walked away to go get something, still wondering what exactly had happened before they arrived. When Ellis D. walked over to them and offered his hand to Journey, inviting her to swim, instant anger flushed through his body.
Journey was his date. Wasn’t it bad enough that he and Ida were hanging out all the time now that he had dropped his preppy girlfriend? Now he was trying to steal his prom date too? Oh hell no!
It wasn’t because he had asked Journey to swim with them, it was that he offered her his hand. Milo honestly expected Journey to turn him down. He was proven just how little he really knew about her when she agreed. He didn’t blame her for taking Ellis D.‘s hand, well maybe a little, but she needed the assistance without her shoes and she was also a nice girl. He didn’t imagine she’d refuse.
When Journey asked if he’d come too he was half tempted to refuse, but that would only push her more into the hands of his stupidly hot friend. “Heck ya!” he said enthusiastically and moved quickly between Journey and Ellis D., and went to use his arm to cut through their linked hands. They would have had to be intentionally holding tight enough to avoid their hands parting. He instantly would then take Journey’s hand into his own and lead her towards the shore before he released her and began working in the buttons of his shirt before removing it and tossing it over his shoulder with a playful grin.
With her arms full of blankets from the truck and the whisky still in her hand, Ida turned around just in time to see Journey take Ellis D.’s hand. She recognized the expression he was wearing - or at least, that Ida imagined he was wearing - and felt a brief pang of jealousy. Instantly she was angry with herself. Hadn’t she said that they were friends above all else? Isn’t that what she had said just moments ago, before she and Ellis D. had crossed the line they for so long had pretended didn’t exist? She couldn't go feeling jealous now. He didn't belong to her, nor she to him. It would be ridiculous to flatter herself by believing that was the case.
It wasn’t long before the anger turned to self-loathing. She shoved the feeling aside - imagining herself bundling it up, locking it in a box, and dropping it to the bottom of the ocean. Ida wouldn’t be this way. She always thought she was above it - after all, what did she want from him, anyway? Ida was in love, that was true enough. But there was absolutely no reason for her to blame other people for it. Tonight, she was here for a good time. Besides, Journey seemed cool and Ida’s feelings were hardly her fault.
Seeing her friends rushing for the water, she dropped the blankets to the ground. Looking at Ellis D. in the eye, she whipped off her shirt without hesitation. Naked in the moonlight, she unscrewed the whisky and took a deep gulp before closing it again and dropping it to the ground. She grinned and said slyly, “And here we go again.” She turned and dashed back into the lake. Looking straight ahead, she thundered into the icy water, diving head first into the cold blackness.

Ellis D. didn’t mean any harm. He wanted Journey to feel included, and would have done it for anyone. He didn’t notice Milo nor Ida’s reactions as he turned and started leading her towards the lake.
“Ya know—“ he began, but Milo was breaking between them and snatching Journey away. Ellis D. was tempted to feel irritated, to chase Milo’s escape with some choice words, but instead he only frowned at the back of his head.
Why were Milo and Ida acting so weird tonight? He shot a glance over his shoulder at Ida before turning back towards the lake. He’d walk to the water’s edge and stand there, deciding whether he wanted to go back in or not. It was cold.
Journey had made it all of a few steps before she was yanked into Milo’s arms and pulled to the edge of the lake. Her eyes briefly looking back at Ellis D and she mouthed a small ‘sorry’ before her focus was back on Milo as he turned to her. She stared at him and finally let her feet fully connect with the cool ground now that she was off the gravel. There was no stopping her eyes as they ran down his face and his bare chest as his shirt hit the ground behind him. When she realized what she was doing, she immediately turned red and adverted her eyes.
Only for her to get an eyeful of Ida as she ran past her and into the water. She fumbled with the skirting that covered her legs for a second before she looked back at the shirt that Milo had taken off. She wished she was as brave as Ida. To be able to run off without a care on who saw her, or perhaps it was that everyone saw her. She was beautiful. Journey could only push herself to try and be half as confident… and that was a stretch. She moved to Milo’s white button down and took it between her hands. “I hope you don’t mind.” She said without quite looking him in the eye again.
Instead she turned her back to the trio and undid her dress, letting if fall from her shoulders and expose her bareback before she pulled his shirt on and buttoned it. It only came down to the top of her mid-thigh and when she had all the buttons secured, she turned back to the group with a small, sheepish smile. Maybe one day she would get to be like Ida, but not yet. Instead she grabbed Milo’s hand, tugging him until she could wrap her other free hand around Ellis D’s hand, and pulled them both behind her into the water. A small noise of surprise leaving her at the coolness of the water, but never stopping her decent into the dark lake.
Milo's attention was instantly drawn to the naked blur that passed him as Ida ran into the water. He laughed and shook his head. "You're CRAZY!" he called out to her. Honestly, he was going to regret this. It was way colder than he preferred it to be.
He smiled at Journey as she picked up his shirt. "Not at all," he replied. Not. At. All. In fact he loved the idea of seeing her dressed in his shirt. It of course crossed his mind that the shirt was white and relatively thin and when it got wet... Maybe he better get into that could water sooner rather than later because that image was hot.
His gaze locked onto his date as she let her dress fall from her shoulders and he got a view of her bare skin. I mean, he had hoped he might get lucky on prom night but hadn't really been holding his breath due to this being their first date. He soaked in the sight of her soft skin in the moonlight and couldn't have pulled his gaze from her if he had tried.
He gave her an encouraging smile as she turned back to them. "It looks better on you than it did on me," he said with a little laugh and allowed her to lead him, and Ellis D. into the water. His grip on her hand tightened as he stepped into the chill. Yep, too cold.

Ida stayed in the cold blackness of the water for a moment - reveling in it. Often she couldn't get away from the noise of her mind - jabbering thoughts, screaming emotions, memories that plagued her. But for this brief moment, she felt utterly and completely calm, body distracted by the biting cold of the water. She stayed there for as long as she could but, her lungs started to protest and she surfaced for air, gasping.
The whisky was already starting to do its work. Ida laughed, feeling incredibly alive. Looking towards the shore, she was surprised by how far out she’d actually gone on out. She swam a little closer to shore, careful to keep her chest below the water. Ida liked to show off, to feign self-assuredness and go for the shock factor - especially when she was in party mode. But she didn’t want to put on too much of a show. Wasn’t that kind of party.
Now that she was further away, she was able to take in Ellis D.’s full form. He really was quite something. Even though it wasn’t long since they’d been alone, it was already starting to feel like a dream. She started to let her mind wander, conjuring up what the rest of the night might bring, but she shook the thoughts from her head. Focus, Rivera. She thought. Focus. Ida shouted with cupped hands, keeping her head above water, “Come on in. The water’s fine.” Ida knew she wouldn’t last long - it was pretty cold - but there were blankets and whisky waiting, so she could tough it out at least for a little bit.

Ellis D., like Milo, didn't give Journey the privacy she sought; he set his eyes on her form as she slid out of her dress and into the white t, likewise conscious of the reality that the white shirt would only serve to increase her appeal rather than preserve her modesty. He did, however, look away when she turned. It wasn't personal. He was just a guy and she was a pretty girl.
When Journey caught his hand to pull him in he cringed into a smile.
"Fine...but I'm also gonna go start us a fire in a little bit."
