03.2023 | WELCOME BACK! Hello friends old and new! I'm so excited to welcome you all back to SITW! I've made some changes to the plot and added the ability to play supernatural charcaters! So come and check it out! I can't wait to jump back into this little town with all of you!
A strange history surrounds the town, it is a place where mysterious and supernatural things have been known to happen. The reputation of the town reguarly draws in visitors and newcomers alike. While some residents avidly believe in the supernatural, others are far more skeptical. What do you believe?
Rae sighed softly, it was their days off and they were bored. They glanced at the clock on their bedroom wall then sat up and stretched. Now they could stay in bed all day or they could go out and do something, they just didn't know what they wanted. They got up and dressed, they then went over to their mirror and split their hair up into 5 sections braided each section and joined them all up in a single ponytail. They got Queen into her vest and attached the leash. They then grabbed their eyeliner and put a little on only to smug it out. [break][break]
They then turned to the clock again, it was 10:30. They were pretty sure the library would be open by now. They needed to return some they had checked out the previous week anyway. So Rae went over to their desk, grabbed their black messenger bag, and the small stack of books. They then went to the table by the front door and grabbed their keys, wallet, and jacket then walked out of their apartment, locking after they were out. [break][break]
"The library is close enough I'll just walk." they said softly to them-self. They walked for a few minutes, nodding to the few people who said good morning to them but trying to keep their head down to avoid eye contact. The blond gripped their bag's strap tighter in their hands and hurried along.[break][break]
Once the building loomed in front of them they glanced up to make sure they were in the correct location then jogged up to the front door. Rae sighed a small sigh of relief once they were in the building, they quietly wondered to the return desk to drop off the books they were returning then started to wander around. They had wandered over to the Young Adult section, yes they were 27 but sometimes the Young Adult section had more interesting books in it. [break][break]
They then pulled a book called "Spirit Hunter" by Katy Moran off the shelf, read the back and added it to their small growing pile books to read, they then wandered over to a table, set the books down to read the first few pages. The books that imminently caught their attention and held in were placed to one side, the ones they were kinda dry and boring were set off to the other.
Nova didn't come to the library to check-out books. She didn't like the idea of having to return books after reading them; she was much too lazy for that. Instead, she purchased them from the library and kept them forever. Truthfully, if she didn't find something else to do aside from reading in every moment of her free time, she would quickly run out of shelf space. That, and the library may not have any books left.
As she practically skipped to the door, red, curly hair bouncing with each step, she felt the immediate excitement that she always felt when she was going to read something new. Stepping inside the building, she was greeted with familiar smell of books and looked around the small library for a brief moment before moving forward, clutching at the strap of her black shoulder bag. She walked around each shelf, eyes carefully scanning, looking for anything she might want. She wasn't entirely sure what she wanted to reach yet, which was rather typical. It wouldn't be unlike her to spend over an hour trying to find the perfect book.
Still not really sure what she wanted, she began walking towards the computers, hoping to be able to find something to pique her interest when a vaguely familiar visitor caught her attention. She looked over to the blond, noticing that books were being split off into two groups. With a curious expression in her green eyes, Nova walked over to the table, stopping a few steps away from the opposite side of where they sat. "Hey! Is one of those piles of books the ones you don't want to read?" She asked quietly with a soft smile, pointing to the stack that she only assumed was the 'no' pile. Nova didn't typically steer for the young adult genres, but it had been a while since she'd read one. Probably a few years if she was being honest with herself. Maybe diving into a little nostalgia was just what she needed.
Rae was so into going over the books piled in front of them that they didn't realize that someone new has stopped in front of them until they heard speaking. They jumped in slight fear as the red-headed woman spoke, their hand going to their chest and Queen jumping from the floor to their lap. Rae glanced at Nova before that she was asking registered in their head. "Y-yeah... t-those are my r-rejected pile..." they said very softly in an almost whisper. [break][break]
Their arms slowly started wrapping around their chest, without their control really. One hand they wrapped around their upper arm and squeezed softly while with the other they started picking at their thumb with their fingernails. Again this was all without any real thought from them, a nervous reaction from even talking to someone who they didn't know the best. [break][break]
Queen reached up with one of her paws and batten at the hand that was picking at a hangnail on Storms' thumb. Rae jerked slightly when they felt Queen batting at this hand, looking down at the tortoiseshell cat they realized what they were doing and started petting the cat instead. [break][break]
